IN fires don't spread like CA fires. We get rain out here in the midwest. I assume the cousin is older than 5?

At the office, I usually have one earbud in and the other out, so I can hear the phone ring and be "accessible" if people come up to me with questions. I used to use Winamp set to mono to do this, but lately I've been using my mp3 player which is obviously set to stereo.

I can't tell if it's weird or cool to hear the playback the way they recorded it. When I have both earbuds in, one doesn't notice that the different instruments and vocals are only in one ear as much. It is definitely interesting to hear the music with one instrument isolated or missing.

A Fat Tire truck is sitting across the street. I wonder if anyone will mind if I hijack it. I'm feeling a liquid lunch coming on.

My son just left for his first day of jr high. I don't know who was more nervous, me or him. I feel nauseous.

Plus he's in a brand new district/new town. ugh

First day of Junior High? He'll be smoking dope and having unprotected sex in a stairway before the end of first period. Congrats.

Took my kids out for Bohemian food last night.
We will have meals for days, from the leftovers.

Is "bohemian food" an euphemism for dumpster diving?

Wienerschnitzel
Roast pork with dill gravy
Roast duck
Hungarian goulash
Stuffed cabbage
Dumplings
Liver dumpling soup

Most of the stuff you think of as German, but there's more to it than that.
Basically, it's comfort food... BIG comfort food.

OK I can understand not wanting to go to work but this seems a bit extreme...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/nor ... 209858.stm

An Aberdeen man who attacked himself with a boulder and a razor to avoid going to work has been fined £100 for wasting police time.

Steven Reid, 23, claimed he had been assaulted, but later admitted faking the attack because he wanted a day off, the city's sheriff court heard.

Reid, now unemployed, had gone to police and said he had been attacked.

Sheriff Graeme Buchanan said it was a "pretty bizarre act" that he could deal with by way of a fine.

Fiscal depute Jim Craigen said: "He was making his way to work and didn't really much fancy going.

"He therefore removed a razor from his pocket and repeatedly dragged it down his face.

"He also picked up a boulder and struck it off his head and repeatedly hit himself on the head and body."

Mr Craigen added: "He went to the police station and said he had been assaulted by two male persons who repeatedly punched and kicked him."

Defence solicitor Keidra Morrison said the first offender had been under stress.

I just discovered via a google search that my friend's wife is a big tea bagger in the Kansas City area and got some media attention via Michelle Malkin earlier this year.
I'm glad we don't get to see each other frequently, since I currently help out the local SEIU health care reform folks.

Try "Kill The Moonlight" by Spoon - it's almost a different album.
(inspired by album poll)
