I took today off to tend to get some side work done that I've been having a hard time finding time to finish. I've been awake since 4:30 am but still haven't started. Watched the Italy game then some wimbledon. Tracked down some tickets for Yankees Dodgers game tomorrow night. Went to the gym. Now I'm headed to a bar for lunch to eat wings, drink beer and watch the rest of this Japan game. Go Me!

I had a sneaking suspicion. After about 10 days, I always crave a chili dog. Barring any other handy alternative, tell him to go back out to the airport- KFC, Burger King, Kenny Rogers, probably a few more that I'm not remembering. The BK's really aren't far off the mark from U.S. ones, meaning mediocre, but western at least. And the Kenny Rogers is actually pretty tasty, particularly if you've been eating mystery meat for a week. I do seem to recall KFC's all over the damned place.

Haha. A couple people from my old office had to go over there every year for 2 weeks. Outside of the language barrier, the food is easily the biggest part of the culture shock from what I'm told. Every person that went over there got sick from something.

It's weird but I remember when I went to Italy, Femderris and I soaked up as much Italian cuisine as we could but by the end of the 2nd week, all we wanted was some Mexican food.

I wish newspapers didn't suck so bad these days. I'm not really happy with relying on the Internet for my news. I get tons of news on things I really care about like baseball and music but not enough on things I should care more about. Even worse, when I feel the need to avoid real-time news for fear of seeing the score of sports I'm tivoing I end up completely news deprived.
