I like Rose a lot but there is nobody else even remotely rootable on the Bulls--especially Boozer who I openly dislike.

Go Heat in the next round.

Because putting together a team like the Heat is nothing new; the only difference is that instead of Red Auerbach or Danny Ainge or Jerry West or Mitch Kupchek conspiring to get the best players to LA or Boston, the players themselves actually helped move things along...so it's funny to me when Lakers or Celtics fans (not just you) act like there has been some illegal or unfair act in Miami.

exactly. garnett or gasol never had a special to announce they were taking their "talents" to boston/la.

He played for Duke. Case closed.

Noah, once a Gator always a Gator. Fuck him and his Admiral Ackbar ass. You're a multi-gazillionaire and so was yr daddy. Get your teef fixed.

Rose, way to leave your college team in shambles. (maybe this is more an NCAA issue though)

Boozer? See: Luol Deng

I never stopped playing Sun City.

Is there something rootable I'm missing about Deng? He's a decent player who's had an underwhelming career.

I'm pulling for the Mavs now but would love it if somehow the Grizzlies could pull off the miracle run.

I'm sure the NBA is HATING this OKC/Memph series (openly 2 of the worst NBA markets)

Stern wants it to be the Lakers vs The Shanghai Swords or some shit.

I'm pulling for the Mavs to beat the Heat--Dirk needs a ring and the Mavs deserve it after the railroad job last time around.

Also, Mark Cuban.

I dunno, somebody has to replace San Antonio as the dominant small market team, may as well be one of those.

Underwhelming due to injuries. He's had some terrible luck the past few years, and came back this year vowing to play in every game, which he did. Plays outstanding defense, 17+ ppg, great person off the court. Plus he just turned 26 a month ago, so I'd like to think he's a player who hasn't reached his full potential yet. Honestly, I don't see what's NOT rootable about Luol.

Yes. I've never heard him apologize for shit for the bullshit he brought down on Memphis. The question was why they aren't rootable, that's my fucking reason.

deng has been pretty underwhelming for the majority of his career, but when he feels like playing, like this year, he's a solid option

can't root for either the Heat or Bulls, pulling for the winner of the Thunder/Grizz series.

Give J. Noah a flat 3pt shot and he's the black Bill Laimbeer; teammates love him, does all that pesky shit to make opponents want to knock him flat. I dig a cat like that.

(note: I said the Laimbeer thing to a friend a couple weeks ago, didn't steal it from Bill Simmons who wrote something similar in a recent column)

Not knowing a ton about what went down @ Memphis I'll be happy to leave D. Rose out of it and put everything on Calipari, which is my default reaction to anything sketchy (read: "everything") he's in any way connected to. Dude is Open Slime and Rose has strapped that team to his back while Boozer (who pretty much wrote the first draft of The Decision with the way he hosed Cleveland and dashed to Utah(?) a few years back) has been straight cashing checks most of the season on into the playoffs.

So yeah, go Bulls...?

I bet they wish they could have though--all of these fucking guys have such huge egos that I'm surprised there haven't been more disasters like the Decision instead of less.

Also, do a google search for "Boston Big 3", there are just as many horrifying images of KG, Pierce and Ray mugging it up when they all signed with Boston--no dancing though, i'll give you that.

I'm not sure the Hawks openly suck either--they made it as far as the C's, won one more playoff game and beat a higher seed in first round. Flawed, yes. Openly suck, no.

if i were a hawks fan, i would absolute loathe josh smith. before last nights game i heard some stat that he was like 57% 10ft or less and 7% longer than 10ft. 7! was funny to hear the crowd groan every time smith took a long jumper. he's a beast inside though, i'll give him that.

Hence the groans. He's so effective inside but he just can't help himself. Those stats have been hammered home here in the local media (papers, radio, tv, everything) and he still continues to chuck it up from deep. At one point I think at the beginning of the Bulls series he was 0 for 17 from outside of 10 feet and 5 for 39 (maybe that was the Magic series). Regardless, you get the point. I've seen him countless times sit out on the wing, have an open lane to the hoop, and toss up a brick from 3. Thing is, every once in a while, he'll have a game where he's making that shot. When he does that he's unstoppable. That's when he start beating his chest and making his stupid faces. It's like, yeah that was awesome but what about the previous 3 games where you went 11 for 68?

Actually I think I posted this stat earlier in the thread somewhere.
