The Huskers are taking their 6-0 all-time record against Sparty up to East Lansing this weekend. The good news is that Nebraska has beaten every team that embarassed them last season. The bad news is that they were embarassed on national tv by a team they were lucky to beat in 2011.
I think this one might come down to who has the best FG kicker. The Huskers were certainly lucky to have Denard Robinson leave the game early last night, and dodged a bullet when Taylor Martinez only suffered a slight knee injury.

Congrats to the Dawgs! I had to go with my gut and pick Florida, but I'm glad Georgia won.

I hope that dude was thrown in a shallow ditch filled with fetid water.

The last time UGA beat Florida 2x in a row I lived in South Korea. IT WAS THE MOTHERFUCKING 80s. YES WE FEEL GOOD!

Also, that game may have set football back a few decades but fuck it. To Hell with Florida.

Georgia fans showing the same class as the UT/USC teams during the Lattimore injury. Sure he punched the dude while his head was underwater, but he also dragged him out of the lake - whether it was because he didn't want the dude to actually die, or he was trying to avoid an upgrade in charges from assault to attempted/negligent homicide we will never know.

I didn't see it, but I hear Nebraska was the beneficiary of a bogus pass interference call at the end of the game today.
I thought Sparty was going to pull away for good when Martinez threw his third interception, so I'll take this gift with a wry smile on my face.

Glad Bama pulled it out but didn't cover. Looking forward to the Alabama/Oregon MNC game.

I'm really interested to see what the Ducks offense does against Stanford and Oregon State, before I determine whether or not I want to see them play a team like Bama for the title. I'm also hoping A&M shocks the world on Saturday and hopefully eliminates the Tide from title contention.

Curious, as a casual fan, where would you lay the blame for that loss? Obviously, that's a huge topic of debate among Tiger fans this morning.

I thought LSU was living on borrowed time at home and played out of their mind last night. The all out blitz on the screen pass for the game winning TD could be second guessed, but sometimes you have to die by the sword.
I thought Saban would make it a statement win, but the Tigers looked like they are a real deal top five or top ten team. Plus, Mettenberger looked pretty damn good in defeat.
The lack of a competent 2:00 drill at the end of the game, was about the only weakness I saw in LSU's offense last night.

The end of that game was crazy. I was with a bunch of Bammers and one LSU fan, and right up until LSU went for that Really, Really, Really Stupid FG attempt to give Alabama a short field and a long clock, that game was LSU's.

Why not "coffin corner" that punt and make them go 90+?

UGA overcame a terrible start to hang 37 skraight on them Ole Miss RebBears. Can't do that if we face Bammar in the GADome. No Sir.

Washington put up 17 and 20 points on those 2 teams so I have no doubt Oregon will put up at least 30-40. Would that be good enough for you?

I'd be impressed by 40 against a team like Stanford, if they actually held the Cardinal to less than 20 points. I only said what I said due to fact that Stanford pretty much shut down USC when they played, and they are only PAC-12 Defense besides the Beavs to be a top 20 defense.
I'm just more apt to buy into a Alabama containing the Ducks on offense, than I am to the Ducks slowing down Bama enough to prevail in a title game, although Kenjon Barner could easily prove me wrong.

I have a feeling Oregon will slaughter Stanford and OSU...woodshed style.

I'd like to see KSU/Oregon play

Agreed on both points.

They get the Trees at home and I think OSU is overrated. Especially if they need style points to leapfrog either KSU or ND in the BCS standings, I think they'll shred both those defenses. And neither of those offenses is nearly as good as USC's who essentially have 3 NFL ready players at QB and WR.

I watched it and at 14-3 I thought Bama would pull away but the LSU D were on fire in the 2nd half and particularly in the 4th quarter (until that last drive, more on that). Considering the pressure, Mett played the best game of his college career. Certainly better than Aaron Murray has played in any big stage game.

I'm sure Tiger Nation is citing all the vintage Les Miles moves; on side kick, going for it several questionable times, etc but ultimately the offense needed one more 1st down or Bama never gets the ball. For me, the D coordinator should carry a ton of the blame for that last drive. They had owned Bama the whole quarter and they suddenly backed off trying to not give up big chunks, which is precisely what happened. Brutal.

Credit Bama though, they won in classic Les Miles fashion, hang around hang around hang around, and then walk out with a win leaving the other side wondering how it happened. BLECH.

The scary part is that as long as Saban is there, down years are going to be 10-2. That Defense is littered with underclassmen and their offense is criminally underrated.

As for Oregon vs Bama. It would be pretty interesting but I think the big question would be how Oregon handles Bama's D-line.

Oregon is a well oiled machine but it doesn't work as good when there is a 6'3", 285 pound Defensive End in your backfield approx. 1.5 seconds after the snap.

My biggest concern if I were Oregon would be the line on the other side of the ball---how do they handle the Bama O-line. Oregon is going to score on anyone in CFB. If they can get enough stops I have no doubt that their offense can put enough points on the board to win. That's a big IF, though. Their D line may look like they're on roller skates vs. that Bama O-line.
