So I guess it's worth my while just to buy it straight out? I've been scoping out the dvds on ebay and I'm watching a few. Heard nothing but great things and figure it's probably worth it.

I just finished Season 2 last night. It was every bit as engrossing as Season 1. Outstanding writing. Outstanding characters. It's funny how this season totally changed my perception of certain characters. If you had asked me at the end of Season 1, I would have thought McNulty was gonna cruise by as lovable in a "he's fucked, but he's a good cop" kind of way, but more and more I just see him as a sleazy, lying, scumbag.

Daniels is the man.

And Valchek, holy fuck, what a piece of assholery this guy is!

The last episode was too short, and I didn't really like the way it ended. But hey, "that's life".

I just got S2 and plan on gorging on it this weekend. S1 was so damn good.

Just watched episode 1 last night. Watching the second tonight. I'm on the train. My life is over.

Finally finished S2, and think this is the best goddamn show ever. Can't wait to see S3. And yeah, Brother Mouzone is fucking frightening.

HBO Zone plays old episodes and I caught all of S3 on there earlier in the year. Needless to say... the Wire knows how to make season finales.

Can't fucking wait until September.

This is a somewhat melancholy reminder that there is very little to look forward to in the future now that this show is gone.

No shit. I was watching TV Sunday night with FemDerris and we were both like "HBO needs to step the fuck up". Did they just put too many of their eggs in John From Cinncinnati and have no back up plan?

I am looking forward to the flick about the 2000 election and Generation Kill but neither are ongoing series.

The only other thing I can think of is the Band of Brother "sequel" that follows the Pacific campaign but it may not even debut this year.

They've also optioned George RR Martin's fantasy series The Song of Ice and Fire, which, if done right, will be amazing. I also thought they were going to do a series based on James Ellroy's American Tabloid and The Cold 6000. Maybe I'm just dreaming that though.

I heard at one point that Bruce Willis optioned this to develop it for Showtime (AmTab) -- they should let me play Big Pete.
