I remember you hated the Okkervil Track off FT's Fractured Texas mix years ago, so I'm surprised you decided to buy it.

I just listened for two tracks from the Okkervil River album...how the hell did these guys get hyped by ANYONE? They're so boring and utterly nondescript that I can't believe anyone took the time to write 3 words about them.

Or that many.

oooooh...controversy....

Isn't this thread about Opa not liking Okkervil? WHAT A CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENT I MADE.

While I still can't stand the guy's warbling, I'd buy a hundred copies of I am a Bird Now before I'd ever buy one of that Okkervil River album, from the tracks I heard.

well with Okkervil River the common answer - "the guy is such a great songwriter"...blah blah

same thing with that dude from florida...can't remember the band name off hand. use to be a film professor or something. his music bores me - but he is such a "great songwriter". someone name that artist - i am drawing a blank.
iron and wine? i've really come around on this guy, he really is probably my favorite songwriter this week.

Yeah, sorry about that. I just get that kind of response no matter what I say usually, and it's kind of nice being able to say things without an automatically sparking an argument, while Dalen's gone.

it's so good.

however, if you don't like iron & wine, you might not like this...it's pretty much sam beam with calexico as his backing band.

I dunno, I saw tommy (i am not typing that name out. sorry cuz.) bringing up discrepancies in rock grudges and thought it was a theme I could contribute to.

I think if you are going to slag everything, then you should at least hype something once every ten posts or so. Negativity is so Hipinion.
