5-11, if memories serves.

6-10 is a walk in the park.

fine, what's the payoff. be creative.

loser sends a 6pk of beer to winner's house.

i agree that their downfall will be swift, and in a way kind of sad, but that's a large "perhaps".

make it a local beer (i.e. something that I can't easily get here) and you've got yourself a bet.

they'll be around 9-7, bears will be lucky to get to .500 They'll both be bad, but Favre won't go out on a losing season.

The problem is their o-line. Favre could finally go down to injury this year because he is gonna get pummeled.

dude they could really be worse than last year.

How? Orton's surely looked 10 times better than Quinn, Krenzel and Hutchinson did last year. Thomas Jones was still good last year, even if Benson is a bust. Jones has looked awesome in training camp, they've improved the offensive line, added Muhammed and Mark Bradley, the younger players on the defense are more experienced, Urlacher is healthy. I'd be really shocked if they aren't better than they were last year. Plus their division is very, very weak.

I hope Orton proves himself. If the line gives him time, he might be able to get the ball to Bradley (whom I'd love to see have a great season).

Better or not, The Bears will finish last in that division---and I'm not just saying that to pick a fight. No matter who he is, its a tough row to hoe with a rookie QB--I just hope Orton doesnt get killed or discouraged because I actually do think that dude has a pretty good future.

I'm honestly not sure about that. The Packers are really bad, and I don't really see why everyone likes Detroit so much. Who cares if they have a shitload of wideouts. Harrington still has a lot to prove and their defense is not good. The Vikings probably win the division, but I think the Bears could finish anywhere from 2-4.

you're right, they'd be hard pressed to have less than 3 wins but if you were playing madden with last year's team versus this year's team i think that its a toss-up, and we all know that madden is the real arbiter of shit like this. i'll still make this same bet with you but i think that it's illegal for me to send you beer.

I went to the preseason game on Friday. Orton definitely looks like the only capable QB the bears have right now, even though he hasn't faced a real 1st team defense yet in the preseason. I was a big fan of Orton back in his Purdue days and think he is smart enough and talented enough to eventually make it in the nfl, but his rookie season? I'm not sure about that. Hutch will be cut this week. Benson and his agent are biotchs for holding out so long. Benson could've been a real asset for the bears offense, but now it'll take him the first 3-4 weeks of regular season to get into playing shape. GB will suck as will the Lions. I see Bears behind Minn a game or two above .500. It can't bee worse than last year.

the bears should win 2 of their first 4 games, and I wouldn't be surprised if they took 3 out of the first 4.

Dr. Z is apparently picking Chicago to be the worst team in the league, but then he's also picking the Bengals to actually regress from last year so i'm going to call him a moppet. all i do know is that Detroit, from the looks of last night, needs to bench joey for Garcia before this chicago game or i may be in some trouble here.
