While I agree that the song is great, there are literal thousands of more obscure ones that I'm fond of. I probably wouldn't mention the huge hits even if I listed a thousand favorites, just because I was so involved in music in the 80's and liked so many songs. The thread is about our top songs of the 80's, not the acknowledged greatest songs by consensus.
By consensus, I'd list all kids of hits that still stand up, but by personal fondness, I'd list many, many non-hits because they mean a lot to me.
