Didn't it win only one Emmy last night? For Writing.
fucking Everyboy Loves Raymond (which I've never watched one second of) one best Comedy series.

Despite what the hipster kids want to say, Raymond was an excellent show. Not edgy or mean, but just a fun show that people could actually watch with others. Great cast, great writing, very funny and true-to-life situations, for the most part. I don't agree that it was the best comedy on TV last year (that goes to Arrested Development without a doubt) but it was definitely one of the best long-running comedy series in a long time. I'll actually miss it. It's good for TV to have an intelligent "nice" show like this on the air.

Can't wait....althought I admit I'll miss Franklin.

Franklin was one of the funniest things on Season 2, and it was a pretty damn funny season.

Michael: Dad's right... we're brothers and we can't be fighting
GOB: Yeah... I already lost a brother today
Michael: Franklin?
GOB: No, but he's all puckered in white
Michael: On the bright side, you can take him to lunch at the club now.
GOB: That's just the kind of joke he would've loved

Taking a dead guy to a restaurant/club was played out for being funny shortly after Weekend at Bernie's...

Really, I thought the joke was that Franklin, an angry black puppet, had gone through the wash and was now white (color drained due to bleach, presumably) and could therefore go to the WASP-ish country club.

She'll be on week 2...

Hoping the NFL-straganza doesn't sink the ratings this week - plus, the episode is fairly hysterical...

Does anyone know anything about this show on after AD?

I think it's called Kitchen Confidential and TV Guide had only good things to say about it. Apparently it's more intelligent humor along the lines of Frasier or AD so it's worth checking out.

It's based on Anthony Bourdain's ( sp? ) book, & his experiences working in NY kitchens.

I've read a lot of things that say it seems like the kind of show that you'd see on HBO, not FOX. I'm gonna watch it.

And I recently read that TV Guide has just undergone a massive facelift. I dunno why anyone would buy ANY kind of printed guide anymore, with the on-screen grids.

If 15 million people watch AD tonight, they'll be giving Carmen Electra one of their Emmies from last year.

Hopefully the show won't be as desperate as their commercials.

AD started out slow but got really great about 1/4 of the way in. I totally missed the 2nd season so I have no idea what's going on.

The Kitchen show isn't all that bad.

I think they're still leaving the "Is Maebe adopted?" question up in the air. Cause the narrator said something like "While Maebe missed an opportunity to kiss one cousin, she did end up kissing another."

It just won't be the same to hear him yell "Steve Bluth!" with his arms raised, though.

I think if Kid Rock had never been all up in that, it might work for me.

edit: Look, Monty, you're repeating yourself... but drunk people can't help that.... do you know the amount spent repairing people from the weekend dwarves the costs of drug rehabilitation?

This edit was for you, Elvis Fu.

I thought this episode was a little disappointing... the whole story seemed rushed, necessitating a bit of over-narration by Ron Howard, e.g. "gee, I wonder why she doesn't want him back" - a little bit much. There were a couple other flat jokes, but Tobias making out with Barry was pretty funny.

yeah, i was a little underwhelmed. but the first episodes of the first and second season were definitely some of the least funny, and it usually takes a little while for them to really hit their stride (the second half of last season was about a million times funnier than the first), so i'm still holding out hope.
