I'd point out that you got both volumes of my "Best of 2004" collection.

You don't count. If I say Yail's 2004 Mix Is My Favorite then I get accused of favoritism.

aka "oh yeah. sorr-gee."

i should note that the worst mix i got was from Chase too. But it was hardly official Ob/CMJ mixtrading, and he actually wrote "this mix really sucks" on the disc.

Obner's been responsible for a lot of cool mixes in my CDR stacks.

Billzebub always puts together 20 or so songs by great bands that nobody's ever heard of. I've got a handful of his mixes, but my fave might be his most recent Generally Behaving Untoward.

Caputo's Best Of 2004 was a great collection.

Rick Derris's Getting Drunk At A Wake still gets a lot of play.

I also like that Chase mix everyone's already mentioned, plus Konstantimix01, RParis's 100 Words For Rain, and Timmyjoe's Pop Pollination (Vol. II I think). I appreciated one of OPA's mixes too, because even though we don't share musical taste it at least introduced me to a bunch of bands I wouldn't otherwise have heard. And Bloor sent me a good mix, but the bastid didn't include any track information.

i'm positive. i've driven several people there. While Pittsburgh is plenty fat and midwesternish, the suburbs are where that really comes out to shine. Notice how many smokers are around you. that number would double downtown, triple in Oakland.

so i have all these mixes in a box at home, i think. i should look through them, but i got a great one from neuroboy many years ago and i usually like the variety of the shiv, cotton, or konstantinmixes. i got a lollipopsncrisps mix years ago too that was monochrome as hell but was great instrumental bands top to bottom, introducing me to explosions in the sky, amongst others. Ellenor also sent me a mix forever ago that took some chances that i really liked. whichever one tommy did that had a picture of an airport on it was great too. and the one that had cold girl fever on it by the national too.

Damn dude. Sorry. Not sure but I think it was the Best of 2004 Vol. 1 Mix:

me and mia - ted leo and the pharmacists
heroes and villians - brian wilson
the rat - the walkmen
une anee sans lumiere - arcade fire
the connection - phish
can’t stand me now - the libertines
ringing in my ear - adem
the day john henry died - drive by truckers
drink to me, babe, then -a.c. newman
valentine - bobby bare jr.,
your cover’s blown - belle and sebastian
portions for foxes - rilo kiley
the tigers have spoken - neko case
hang by, hang by - razorlight
narc - interpol
portland oregon - loretta lynn
act nice and gentle - the black keys
black mask - the international noise conspiracy
anectode - ambulance ltd.
garbage day - the ike reilly assasination,
theologians - wilco

I still really like this mix and have heard it in no less than three peoples cars recently. Volume 2 is no slouch either.

I need to add that every mix I've received from the lot of you have introduced me to new music. Dalen, Kit, Tommy, Todd, Stacey and others I'm sure that I've forgotten have all supplied great shit!
