Why do you assume that anyone who doesn't share your love for the album is a "hater" that doesn't know the album. I've been a fan of James since 1988. I probably bought "Laid" the day it came out. I've personally spent enough time to say its a decent but not great album to me. For me, they peaked with Strip Mine, the rest of their albums have a few really good songs each but have lots of filler.

It still amazes me how a James fan could think Laid is simply a decent album.

However, most Radiohead fans think I'm crazy for suggesting that Hail to the Thief, not Ok Computer (my least favorite Radiohead album) is their true masterpiece, so I can see where you're coming from.

Over-rated. But still good. Don't think it even cracks my top 1000, but then again, my top 1000 has a lot of really good albums on it.

OTM.

Essential singles band but nothing more. I have had Laid in my collection for the longest time but has never moved me. 1993 was the year Modern Life Is Rubbish, Chrome, Gentlemen and Suede came out and are much better albums, IMO.

Now, I clearly have the best taste on Obner because I enjoy bands such as The New Radicals and singers like Usher, but there will always be those who are lame and need to find a new hobby.

Wow. It's a good thing you is the funny-makin'. Otherwise...just...wow...

Modern Life is probably in my Top-100, too. The first truly great Blur album.
Love the Suede record, but it just doesn't move me the way Laid does.
And Afghan Whigs? I've tried to like them, but just never gotten into them.

Yeah, 1993 was a good year for music.

Laid just resonates for some reason. I can't say why, it just does.
