Because they treat their non-zombified people like shit, and they only allow clean CD's to be sold, and they don't compete fairly (initially underpricing until competition goes out of business, then raising prices, that sort of thing).

man, this is what I get for working for 2 hours?

okay, FIRST of all, there aren't really Amish people anymore, for the billionth time. They all went to OH and IN or they're still here but they sell speed to bikers/work in Reading Terminal Market.

SECOND, I didn't say anything about Philly OR PA not having Wal-Marts, onlt that there are non near me. There was a Kmart about 20 minutes away from me until recently, but the only Wal-Mart I can think of in the area is on Chester Pike, which is a good half hour from me on a good day. My hometown though doesn't really have any chain stores other than a Subway and, as of this year, a Starbucks.

THIRD Keel-hauling is no joke. That'll fuck you up.

FOURTH for some reason I though KPH would be on top of the whole Wal-Mart thing.

Ha...I have mixed feelings on the subject, but I was more interested in seeing if people had their own opinions (or at least a reasonable facsimile of someone else's).

I'll say this much - the Wal-Mart discussion is pretty complex and driven by several issues, each of which can be taken on its own (so, the union thing alone...). I'd be a hypocrite if I argued against chain stores in general though.

There's a Walmart on Columbus Boulevard.

There's also one right across from the Franklin Mills Mall.

There's also one in Trooper, less than 5 minutes north of King of Prussia.

There's one in Plymouth Meeting as well.

so, you're on a boat, and someone ties a rope to you, and then throws you overboard and you're all like "help! that douchebag threw me overboard" and all flailing around and shit and then they start pulling you from the other side so you go underwater, across the keel of the boat, the barnacles likely rip your back skin off like the nails or a meth-crazed hooker, and the saltwater's no walk in the park either, and you make it to the other side and then a shark eats you.

I think it's interesting to note that Wal-Mart has about 5200 stores operating right now. In the 1930s, A&P had 16,000.

that was beautiful.

I always wondered how they ran the line underneath the boat to start with. throw it over the front? It just doesn't seem like it'd work. those pirates are fucking crafty.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart because:

1) the stuff is usually cheap crap

2) the customers are generally the dregs, and manouevering through them quickly ruins my day

Marry lousy product with the world's worst shopping experience, and I'll spend the extra 20% at Target, or 40% at a boutique/specialty store not to have to deal with it. Yes, I'm a snob, and no, I don't care.

so true. I often wonder how they manage to avoid ADA compliance issues, what with all their pallets of shit unloaded into the middle of aisles.

I remember when the Phantom got keelhauled in the comics. He got away and put a shark in his place when they pulled him out on the other side or something.

Still, that was some pretty creepy shit to be in the daily comics.

See, here's how this is the problem.

Today, it's 15 dollars. At the competition, it's, say, 20.

Competition closes, Wal-Mart raises their price to 25.

Yeah, you already have a coffeemaker, so you don't care any more, but you're screwing your neighbors.
