Holy shit. I feel asleep with MD trailing Florida State 14-0 and looking awful, then I wake up at half time and they are up 21-14 and just intercepted a pass at the FSU 30.

pathetic ending.
all the "friedgen's done a great job, and the coaching staff is great" blah blah blah is getting real old with all the losses in big games.

Except that no one is beating Florida State. Before Friedgen, the Terps managed just one winning season after Bobby Ross left. Vanderlinden, Duffner and Krivak were rolling up an average of 4 wins a year.

yeah, i know i'm kinda demanding too much. it's just tough when i know they have a chance to win these games. it should be enough just to see some kind of decent football program at UMD.
it was much easier when i was there (91-96) and NO ONE event went in to the games. everyone just stayed out at the tailgates.

Vernon Davis is awesome. As brick shithouse-esque as he looks on television, he's even more intimidating in person--and I was in the stands. His fucking shoulders look like canonballs sticking out from under his pads.

yeah, i remeber being awed by davis watching that clemson game.
during the va. tech game, the commentators said last year he was at 3% total body fat, put on 30 pounds over the summer and is still at 3% total body fat. so 30 pounds of pure muscle over the summer. wonder what he's on?

He's not overly swollen up like a pro wrestler though, his skin is just full. He's not freakishly out of porportion, but he looks like he was carved out of marble.

Wish us luck, RU has USF, then Louisville before closing out the season with Cinnci. USF will be the test of our season, we beat 'em, we might go to a bowl for the first time ever (unless you count the Garden State Bowl in '78).

And soon enough, the Academy will have to endure the unpleasantness of the film Annapolis.

If it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way about our program at State, eventhough the past two years you could barely call what we have a decent program. We've got FSU this coming week, and I'm not feeling too great about our shitty offense going against their stout D.

Though a ray of hope emerged last weekend when our 3rd string true freshman RB ran for 248 yards in 3 quarters of play. Maybe he can give us some sort of shot this weekend.
