These are just off the top of my head. I'm sure there's plenty of others I could think of.

STFU you idiot.

haha That's what I was going to say but thought I"d say it nicer. With the exception of the Shins I would say that this young man calling any of these overrated deserves a gentle whack to the head(well, Room on Fire isn't earth shattering it's still pretty good).

i sold back fever to tell - the big hit on that album is great though, but beyond that, not much.

i would say the most overrated would be any boards of canada. borrrring.

most overrated = the wrens.the meadowlands

now before i get killed, i like the album fine...i just don't think it's the greatest album of the 00's like a lot of peeps here seem to do.

but then again, i like the shins.

By the way, I can't say I was a big fan of Elephant by The White Stripes. It had a few good songs, but the slower tracks really dragged it down.

To be fair, I haven't listened to it in awhile, so I'll give it another chance soon. Maybe it's one of those albums that grows on you.

I'll agree with The Strokes and YYYs. But I like that Shins album alot.

The only songs I even liked from the YYYs are "Black Tongue" and "Maps."

I might actually enjoy The Strokes if it wasn't for the annoying "I'm singing into a Dixie cup" vocal effects. Well, at least the first album had that problem - I never gave the second one a listen.

Shins albums aren't all time classics. I don't remember the reviews calling it a classic either.

They're still awesome.

Number one from Pitchfork, one of the worst of this decade!

Yeah I thought this was pretty overrated. But "House of Jealous Lovers" was danceable.

I never understood the hype behind The Darkness. Granted, I did find "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" irresistible during the month of Dec 2003. But it wore off quick, and none of the other tracks stuck.

Maps is sooo good. The new album is make or break for how The Strokes will be remembered.

Why is it whenever someone talks about what's "Overrated" or "Underrated" they never mention who's doing the rating? Gotta name your sources, folks...

For example, a real example of "Overrated":

I'm noticing a trend here.
