Constantly innovating, puts on amazing live shows, and is quite simply a classy fellow. The peak of his popularity was in 1986, but artistically he is still in his prime.

My honest answer to this would probably have to be Elliott Smith.

I can't do this. I try really hard to not pick favorites. It would make the others cry.

Wrens. I mean, they're nothing without the Beatles, but they've always been more immediate to me than Them.

I would pick Frank Zappa because there is so much variety, 60+ albums and I am always in a good mood when I listen to his stuff.

Euphamism of the week!

Italian women are known for their ample busts, yes. And Ani is no exception.

As it is: my favorite all-time artist/band is Flaming Lips. The first band with which I really fell in love, following hearing "She Don't Use Jelly" on New Rock 102 [Oct/Nov '94], I initially enjoyed the music for its goofiness... But as senior year of high-school broke [Feb/Mar '98], I heard Transmissions from the Satellite Heart again on my headphones; enthralling. Sounds from everywhere, and ridiculously heavy for an art-damaged parapunk band.

Further, their later output and projects just grab me. The idea of putting on a boombox show, the gall of a car-alarm show... Christmas on Mars! Jeebus - just so giddy yet massive.

Wrong thread -- meant to put this one in the "defines rock'n'roll thread".

Mine's probably Pink Floyd, but Tangerine Dream and Skinny Puppy keep ousting them. It's like tag team...something...

I like seeing all these "pick only one" threads next to the nose zit thread.

The Pink Dream Puppies.

I bet they'd have taken the belt.
