chipotle is really average at best. they are sprouting up here which I don't get when there are some great taquerias that kick their ass and are cheaper. maybe its the faux-industrial design and ikea lighting.
No, mom and pop stores rule. Here's to hoping they don't go down (as in, "...with the ship").
L, I prefer even Baja Fresh.
Q*doba,
cabrones. Unless you're in Milwaukee. And if you can get to Walker's Point or the Near-South Side.
And two interesting Qdoba facts:
(one.) Good friend of mine thru the last three years of high-school, and into university for two years, was not known for his industry. But - he announced that if he would submit himself to work in food-service, it would be Qdoba where he would work (for the meal discounts). Of course, that said, he dropped out of Madison two years into an engineering programme - and with prolly only one year left, given retro-credit, 'til grad. year - and now stocks shelves at Target. Or was doing so when last I knew him, five years ago... And I happened to see him crossing Lincoln Avenue at National about a year ago, approaching (presumably) Target. Wasn't dressed in but tee and jeans, too. (No manager he, then.)
(two.) The Qdoba franchise I frequent in New Berlin is managed on the afternoon-evening shift by the most profoundly butch lesbian upon whom I have ever laid eyes. She actually looks more like a male pro skate-boarder than female. If not for the protusion at mid-chest, then, I would think her a man. But, she is woman... And has the least hoarse voice for a gal into gals. Soft as honey, even. (But I wouldn't want to f--- her. I wouldn't want (to try) to turn her around.*)
