I saw that one too but don't know what kind of drive is in it. I know that they just bought Micronet which made decent drives at one time. The 320 Gb has both USB and Firewire, the 250 is only USB. Since I am Mac-based I prefer to have both. So between the two I lean towards the WD 320 GB over the 250GB Fantom. If for nothing else the make of the drive.

I guess for mac that might matter. for me, saving almost 50% and only going from 320 to 250GB is a steal

FYI this is a cool deal...
Just pop a drive in and plug into your network.

OK, so i picked up a western digital 250gig model... came to $99bux after rebates.....im satisfied with what I paid if it does the trick...

NOw, I wann back up my ipod.

1) I do not keep any musi cin my itunes library. All 11k songs are sitting on my ipod. (i know i run the risk of losing all those songs should my ipod breaks or I lose it. I did it, cause i didnt want to use all the space on ym computer hard drive, hence the new back up drive).

2) anyways, how would i go about this....
is this correct?
a) plug ipod into dock and transfer all the songs back to my library.. may be a several hour process im guessing....
b) from there, can i simply find the itunes library folder on my hard drive, and drag and drop into the new hard drive, therefore copying the tracks to the new hard drive?

is it as easy as that, or is there a better way? maybe install itunes onto the new drive as well, and then just repeat the first process?

thanks

Just picked this up this afternoon for $150. it comes with rebates that total $90 so final cost comes to $60. not bad for a 250 GB internal I'm going to run over to compUSA they have a USB 2.0 external enclosure for $25. so for $85 I'll have a good drive to store all my music!

250 GB, 7200 RPM, 8 MB Cache
WD2500JB
Cool, quiet and fast. WD Caviar SE EIDE drives offer superior performance and reliability, making them ideal for business and family desktops.
