My number was 299 last year and I got on the Crestor. Dropped down to like 170. I lost some weight too but am now fat as a cow again. Need to start running or taking smack again.

Yeah, same thing happened with me; Never had a check up all through my 20s. At the urging of my wife (and a family history) went to get a physical. My BP was 180/120; I was a couple degrees away from immediate hospitalization. Cholesterol was also high normal as well. I had the option of the Lipitor but decided one drug was enough for now. I went on beta blockers (up until this summer when I weaned myself off of it, with a doctor approval), knocked the booze and cigarettes to the weekend, exercised 5 times a week and modified the diet too.

Long story short, BP now ranges from normal (120/80) to high normal (130/80-90) and my cholesterol is now normal. If I didn't get that check up I almost certainly would have had some sort of major cardiovascular accident sooner than later. I tell people all the time to get a check up, especially if it's been, like, a decade between visits.

I had a physical awhile ago but I forget what my cholesterol was at. It can't be good since I feel like shit half of the time.

so got my cholesterol blood test results back.... 175.
