John Doe: Slam Dance(awesome thriller with Tom Hulce from 80's), Georgia, Boogie Nights

Adam Ant: Slam Dance

That's all I can think of offhand.

Forgot about those!

John Doe was also in Great Balls of Fire, the Jerry Lee Lewis movie.

And, who else remembers Ladies and Gentlemen Introducing the Fabulous Stains, staring Steve Jones, Paul Cook, Paul Simonon, and Fee Waybill. You can also see early roles for Laura Dern and Diane Lane.

Of course, you've got Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby and guys like that who were in tons of movies. Oh, and Elvis too.

Danny Weis: bandleader and guitarist in backing band in movie "The Rose". He played on Iron Butterfly's first album, on Rhinocerous' two albums, backed Everlys, lead guitar on Sally Can't Dance (?) with Lou Reed, and others.

Three GREAT Nicholas Roeg films featured rock dudes in the main roles (two of 'em already mentioned in the thread):

Bad Timing (A Sensual Obsession) - Art Garfunkel
The Man Who Fell To Earth - David Bowie
Performance - Mick Jagger* (AND Anita Palenberg back in her destroy-all-mortals days)

Henry Rollins has had a bunch of bit parts, and also had a guest lead role in the Sci-Fi channel anthology series Welcome To Paradox.

*Jagger also starred in Ned Kelly and Freejack, but the less said about either the better.

I wasn't a big fan of the movie Fight Club, but I do remember Edward Kowalczyk from Live played a waiter in one scene.

What about Evan Dando and Dave Pirner in Reality Bites?

Doesn't Pirner play some dude on the couch that's hanging out with Janeane Garafolo's character?

Dano's bit in the faux real world project at the end always cracked me up.

Steve Vai bitches.
He played the hands that played the guitars at the end. I think he's technically credited as Steve "No Talent" Vai.

Oh, and Trent Reznor was in Light Of Day (played the bassist in one of the bands).
