I find it kinda odd that Chow is flirting with an underaged girl.

As for wrapping gifts, I love to. I take great care in their appearance -- adding nice lil' decorations and handmade bows.

Stacey isn't underage.

i haven't bought a single gift other than three big ticket items for me. I'm an evil man. An evil, greedy, horrible man who sucks at wrapping gifts...

I wish it was acceptable to drop the gift in a brown grocery bag, and staple it shut.

with a christmasy bow on top, how festive.

Hate wrapping presents. The Zip-loc thing is genius. They should print up decorative ones.

On a related note, I will not buy greeting cards. Birthdays, anniversaries, whatever. Picking out cards is the worst. Just won't do it anymore.

Thank you!

I thought of that, too. Decorative ones you can't see through. Of course, that would kind of defeat one of the ziplock purposes, but...

Zip-loc bags indeed...pffffft! You're not giving 'em Halloween candy! Sheesh!

How do you wrap large gifts? Do you leave those in the Wal-Marr bag you brought 'em home in?

right on, i opened this thread hoping to find others who hate wrapping shit as much as I do and ended up in a Roman Polanski-fantasy thread.

Yeah, I hate it and yeah, I use gift bags whenever possibble.

I can never seem to have each end fold the same way. I have the basics down, but the fold is where I'm lacking skill. I fucking hooked up the 'rents this year. Sweaters, Neil Young, Cream live at Royal Albert Hall, a book, and a throw (can't call it a "blanket") from Pottery Barn. Really out did myself. Now all I have to do is drive 7 hours home and deliver the fuckers.

In Grinch Platte's defense he is doing a good thing for the environment. You know, reduce, reuse, recycle. Think about how much paper ends up in the landfill the week after Christmas. Its like burning cash!

So good on you Grinch. I'll admit that our copy room guy saves me the wrappers from the copy paper and I use them to wrap the gifts I mail. At this time of year they print the inside with simple holiday images.

But this year I had to use some paper that had pushpins printed on it. But they were GREEN pushpins!

edit: sorry, that sounded sanctimonious... what I meant to say is that gift bags are cheap, available and can be used for next year's gifts as well. Most gift paper (except the foil kind) can be recycled. It doesn't all have to go in the trash bin. I think Grinch's solution is a very.... bachelorized one. ;)

Definitely not a wrapping fan...thinking about paying someone to do it for me either...

Not that big on unwrapping presents, either...or at least not for quite a few years...

It might sound silly, but I'd rather watch other people unwrap their presents, or presents that I give them.

Pretty weird, eh?
