no. It was horrible. To me, if you liked SAW, you probably like The Ring and all the other crap horror that the studios threw down our throats as of late.

Saw sucked.....Saw II was much better...

I loved the ring.. first movie in 10 years to spook me.
the remakes of texas chainsaw and day of the dead were both great as well...

looking forward to Hostel

wait...you thought Saw sucked and then you plopped down another $10 for a sequel that literally everyone panned as worse than the original and thought it was better??!?!?

1. I saw the 2nd one for free.
2. I first one was ruined by the acting alone...The concept was great.
3. Most of the reviews i read for the 2nd one, were positive.
4. Most horrors movies get panned int he press anyway. I dont go by them. I judge on my own, or by horror sites.

interesting. I enjoyed Saw for the concept, but also thought the acting sucked and the casting (esp Glover) was horrendous. Never saw Saw II because I assumed it was horrible.

basically, it was Saw, with much better acting....not that it is saying that much, but still a great concept, and better execution.

Is QT directing this movie, or is he just producing it?

Executive producer.

I thought Saw was okay. Great concept, but executed rather poorly. I didn't mind the acting but I've only seen it once and don't really remember it all that much now. I have the dvd and I'll watch it again at some point.

I haven't seen Saw II.

I liked the remake of The Ring but the original is better, of course.

And the TCM and Dawn Of The Dead remakes were great, though I thought Day was better.

Edit: going to see Hostel again tomorrow night.

the saw movies tried to incorporate too many plot contrivances into each movie. it was just all over the place, and it didnt have a fluid storyline. it was like they just wanted to wow everyone at the end to make up for the bad acting and plot holes.

i want to see this.

cabin fever didn't scare me. i thought it was a piece of shit movie. the only movie that scared me in recent years was the ring. haven't seen saw... no one would go watch it with me (wusses!) but i'm a huge fan of horror flicks.

I caught the late show of Hostel last night. It made Saw and Cabin Fever look like friggin' Disney movies. I love horror/suspense movies, but this one crossed the line.

yeah but cabin fever is more comedy/horror than straight horror.

it was awesome seeing it tonight with an unexpecting crowd and hearing them go 'ewwwwwww' at different points in the movie.

He is one sick fuck.

I caught one of his movies a few years back (the name of which escapes me; anyway, it involved men being hung from hooks and having boiling oil poured over them) and was horrified by the unrelentingly sadistic nature of the story.

Yeah, that's the one! Sick, simply sick. Entertaining, though.

Just saw it. It was entertaining. Not really scary...creepy, and turned me off to international travel, although hooking up with the Italian Russian chick might be worth losing a few fingers over...

yeah I had a similar reaction...I wasn't scared, grossed out a couple times, but I was entertained and I'd see it again.

okay so am i the only one who thought this movie SUCKED? maybe i had high expectations for this, but i was disappointed. i thought it was hilarious in the sense that it was cheesy.

it wasn't as twisted as i thought it would be... although i did end up having crazy nightmares last night.

Interesting how you thought it sucked, yet you had nightmares after. Perhaps, you are not revealing everything about how the movie made you feel!!!!!!

i also ate right before i went to sleep, which causes me to have nightmares... not to mention i've had major anxiety issues the past week or so, so that contributes to it.

reasons why i thought hostel sucked:
-bad acting
-predictable characters and what role they would play
-lack of suspense
-all the "gore" looked minimal and actually made me laugh because it looked so unrealistic
-retarded ending

just sayin.'

i really didn't think the characters were all that predictable. i would've bet on that dude josh being the hero instead of paxton.
