Yeah I was looking at apartments on Craigslist in Austin and they had some nice places for about 1/3 of what it would cost here.

Currently planning my escape from Boston, too, pending the lady's grad school admissions...off to maybe DC or London or some remote place with Oxfam.

God I hope she does not get into Tufts and we spend the next 7 years here. Soooo done with Boston.

(caveat: I love JP)

She did do a good job, even though we didn't have much time. I enjoyed driving around the blocks looking for a parking space near Amoeba! ;) Just joking... I have that problem here too. I got a good enough sense of LA to know that where I was at (Orange County) was NOT COOL. I don't think I have what it takes to live in LA though.

Portland's cool, but not for the folks with seasonal depression... coming from Boston, it might be a letdown.

haha, i warned you about orange county... been working here far too long! (thank goodness only 3 more days, and i am NEVER EVER coming back to this godforsaken city!!!!!!) and yeah you got a good taste of la traffic... ;)
