And Ryan: I'll actually buy your album if you guys win, instead of getting it free, ok?

Not that I can definitively say that I think Carolina will win (I have strong doubt in fact), but this seems at least a reasonable and friendly wager.

i know a lot of you aren't sold on grossman, but one thing to realize that he, not orton, is playing this game. this gives the bears a passing game that opposing defenses have to notice, and doesn't allow them to put 8 or 9 in the box to defend against the run like when orton was in.

i, for one have been surprised/impressed by Rex in what I've seen: Good thing Lovie gave hime some reps in that last game, right?

And this aint the Falcs secondary. Carolina got some hard, pipe swingin, niggas out there.

And Thomas Davis is playing like a dude who just skipped his parole.

last time rex played in minnesota, he got hurt. that turf is nasty, and i would much rather have him sit out and be healthy than taking a chance of really fucking something up. he's proven so far that he can take off more than half a season, and win his first 2 games back. granted, they were against atl and gb, but a win is a win.

btw, bears won IN tampa bay who has a top defense w/ orton qb-ing and we won.

Three things:
1.this is the playoffs

2. the Falcs (remember them--they scored 6 on you guys) scored 24 and 27 on TB so (despite the stats) I'd hardly call them world beaters....

3. I aint baggin on the Bears, dude. I've unfortunately seen what those cats can do----they are scary. Real fucking scary. But they also got straight jacked by Pittsburgh late in the season so lets keep our heads here.

I think(hope) its gonna be a kickass game. I love outdoor playoff games with good defenses. Most entertaing shit around.

yeah, that ain't good.

that being said: are there two any scarier teams in these playoffs than New England and Carolina? Like, I know that the Bears should win this game, but I'm not sure why: Carolina is a great road team, is hot as hell, has a decidedly better offense, and a not too far behind D. And oh yeah: They've actually been there before....(first time playoff QB's didnt do so well this past wknd)..........

And Spade if you give me the "look at the matchup in the regular season", I will officially dismiss you as a guy who openly knows nothing about football. And I know you're better than that.

This game is a pick 'em. Maybe Bears -1.5 or -2 b/c of homefield but I cant give them the full 3.

And trust me, I don't disrespect the Bears in the least.

I hate to break it to you Grossman lovers, but if you look at the #'s, he's no more effective than Orton. In fact, they have the exact same passer rating for this season---59.7.

I realize that Grossman only played in 2 or 3 games, but the stats are really all we have to compare the two. That being said, I think Grossman does give them more of a passing threat. I think this game is going to be a close one, with the Bears D pulling it out again at the end.

I personally have a lot of faith in Rex. Judging his passer rating over 6 quarters is pretty unfair. Just watch the offense with Grossman in and it's like two different worlds.

I loved the Grossman draft pick, and it's been a shame he's fallen on some hard luck. But I'm positive that Rex has that "IT" quality in a QB. I think he'll show it Sunday, and if not, it'll be apparant to everyone next season. I know I'm in the minority on this, but he'll be a star.

That is specifically why I said "I realize that Grossman only played in 2 or 3 games..."

It's really all we can judge them by---but I agree with you that the Bears O looks much better with him at QB.

Is the over/under really 30.5? Seriously? Wish I knew a bookie.

All this plus me betting that Delhomme won't be throwing off his back foot this game makes me fairly confident in this game. Note that I only said fairly.

Come on, I'm nervous enough already. I feel like my life is hanging in the balance, and that's kinda pathetic since it is only a football game.

And again, that's why I specifically said----"I agree with you that the Bear's O looks much better with him (Grossman) at QB". The "looks" implies that I have actually watched the games.

You Bears fans need to work on your reading comprehension. [/Loogar]

Bears are done before they get started. Congrats, you played in the worst division in football and had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. Yes, you beat Carolina earlier in the year... hardly matters now. Panthers are rolling with enough offensive weapons to score some against the Bears, and the Bears offensive is ugly enough to possibly not score against a good Panther's D. Give it up Chicago peeps. You're all done and you know it.

And I say this as a fan of Lovie Smith (Tulsa graduate and former assistant coach)
