Since you like Crate & Barrel have you tried CB2? It's like their hipster offshoot....kind of high priced Ikea as far as I can tell.

They have some cool stuff on occasion though.

Thread reminds me of that dude who posted on CMJ that made furniture for some reason. Did he ever make it over here?

That would be Xisting0. I think he moved from Florida to Chicago and hasn't really posted much, if at all.

I actually found a decent one at Best Buy. Solid. Holds 700 and was like 60 dollars. Not ugly either.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I actually get that Restoration Hardware catalog.

Have any of y'all Chicagoans been to either of the CB2 stores?

yeah, it's particle. but it's sturdier than the stuff you usually see. and it has tons of supports so it doesn't bend in the middle of the shelf. I guess I should say it's really not bad for being a cheap piece from Best Buy.

Chris, I just went through catalog after catalog looking for the perfect mirror a few weeks ago. I didn't find it, so I built it. Stained wood, vintage look, perfect in my bathroom.

dude, you ever sort out that hot sauce? there's a project for ya ;)

Here's a thought: rasterbate yourself some wallpaper (a good tiling fractal, or something), and cover everything with it.

check out your local Target, Billy. They've got a new section of cheapo import decor items that are actually pretty cool if employed correctly. We picked up a couple of vases for the mantle and some (kinda art deco) lamps for the bedroom.

I think I'm about to drop about 1200 bucks on a new dresser. Somebody stop me.

For sheets, I like Linens & Things, and Bed Bath & Beyond (for your bedroom, your bathroom, and your beyondroom). I got some wonderful, black, 400-count sheets for cheap there, and they had some nice comforters on clearance -- I'm set for years.
