Get good reception food, and don't forget to eat it and drink the booze! I was so amped up and freaked out at my wedding reception that I missed out on some of the best food and drink that I have ever been around. I won't make that mistake the next time I get married.

You are lucky. My girlfriend pressures me about an engagement about once every two weeks and sometimes more. I always tell her I'll ask if she doesn't mind not getting a ring with the proposal, then she quiets down.
I gave her a promise ring last Christmas, and she feels like since we have been dating for two years that we should at least be engaged. She doesn't want to get married until after she finishes school, so I don't see what the big deal is, since she still has a while left due to not taking a large load of classes like I did.

I gave up on trying to see what the big deals are, and just accept that they are big deals. Once you hit "big deal", there is no longer a chance for rational debate about it.

I completely agree with you, I don't even try to argue stuff like this. I don't ever feel like getting in the proverbial doghouse over something like this. I just comment about it on here to let out the little bits of frustration that tend to add up after a while if you don't say something about it.
