as i was walking to the train this morning, i saw a bicyclist getting chewed out by a guy in a minivan. the driver got out of his car (after cornering the bicyclist between van and parked car) and was screaming so loud, that i heard him from two blocks away. the bicyclist just stood there and took it and when the driver got in his car, he clipped the bicyclist and took off.

i thought of you, but not for any negative reason. i sort of wish you would've been there to witness the fireworks since you've mentioned in the past keeping a level head in those situations. this bicyclist was certainly a lot calmer than i think i would've been. he just rode away and shook his head. makes me wonder how the argument started.

that driver is nuts.
a lot of drivers feel the need to "teach people lesssons" with the way they drive or like this asshole.
my ex was like that and it drove me nuts. she'd do things like drive slow in the fast lane if she felt people were speeding too much.

if i were the cyclist i probably would have told the guy to fuck off and rode away.
people drink too much coffee.

my mom does this. drives me up a f'ing wall. if someone's a bit too close behind her car, she'll speed up (causing the other driver to speed up) and slam on the brakes! and she still does that "stop short" thing on me like i'm six years old. or she'll say, "hold on". like, that's going to save me when someone slams into her.
