Wake comes back to take the lead with <4 minutes to go and pulls away at the end, 78-66. We play Wake tomorrow.

Yea, I'm thinking FSU needed a win to help their cause for the tourney (similar situation as us last year). Looks like they very well could be NIT bound.

terps could be in with just a win over g. tech tonight...but in all likelihood, it's gonna take 2 wins. especially after uconn and gw went down today.

Terps don't deserve to dance. No way.

Because they are shit. What a disaster. Go to the Final Four. Win it all the next year. Now you're NIT darlings for two years straight. I know the ACC is a tough damn conference, but they are just sort of going through the motions.

I'm also wondering what the hell Gary is doing on the recruiting trail. Are these guys not panning out, or were they 2nd rate players he misevaluated? And Rudy Gay is from AA County, but ends up at Connecticut. I'm not sure I blame him either. UConn won it all the year before he got there, and they've remained competitive.

Gary needs to grab this bull by the horns and get some guys in there with something other than gravy between their ears.

dude, i agree with 99% of what you say here...especially about placing a LOT of blame on gary...

BUT an acc team with 20 wins (10 acc wins) is pretty much a lock for the big dance.

I think I let my frustration seep out too much earlier. I'm not saying they shouldn't get in based on actual selection criteria. I think that if they lose in the ACC finals they shouldn't go, just because they don't deserve it..

If they get in this year, it will be like rooting for Winthrop.

plus, maryland deserves a little credit for hanging in there after losing their top scorer.

i've been pretty disgusted by them many times this year...but they're playing better as of late so i'm trying to give 'em a little more love. except travis garrison. that no-talent hack has overstayed his welcome.

That kid that wears all the undershirts is good, too. Gansy? I like WVU and the way they play, but it's been so long since the Hogs had anything worth watching.

It kind of bothers me that they play the ACC tournament in North Carolina. I realize that state has four ACC teams, but it seems like it benefits Duke and UNC quite a bit. I think Duke has finished 2nd or 3rd in the conference regular season, only to win the tournament due to a home court type atmosphere.
The Big XII tournament is in Texas this year, but normally they aren't the favorite like they are this year, it is usually the Jayhawks.

Well, They played the tourney last year in DC and next year it goes to Tampa and then Atlanta a few years from now. After 2010, it may alternate between Greensboro and Atlanta, however Greensboro may get 2 or 3 to every 1 in Atlanta.
