yeah i think it goes through cycles, where you totally hate every character on the show for a few months and then they become more bearable. Meadow spends a lot of time in this area, and every time I think "oh, maybe she's actually growing up" she goes and says something that makes me want to slap her. A.J. does it, too. I don't know if he's gonna get wrapped up in the mob though because I can't imagine any of the characters do anything to let him.

lot of weirdness in tonight's episode.

Yeah, I can't say I cared for it either. I was hoping for a little bit more than another stupid fantasy sequence. They've gone back to that well a few too many times.

Ditto about the coma sequence. I found it annoying and read the paper during most of those parts.

Plus I had to gag when Sheila Kelley was making out with Tony Soprano. As If.

But I agree on Edie Falco's scenes, holy crap was she on last night. She kept making me want to cry.

And for some stupid reason Meadow showed up in one of my dreams last night.

Funny, Jen... I thought the same thing about Sheila Kelley, and even said to my husband, "You know it's a television show fantasyworld when an ugly fuck like Tony can attract women like Sheila."

Last night's ep bothered me. Pretty intense. I didn't like the dream/coma sequence. Carmela was pretty raw last night. It made me uncomfortable to watch the guys talk about what was going to happen... like I have the feeling if Tony doesn't come out of this, things are going to get dicey on who takes over. I have a strong feeling this season is going to prep AJ to becomes part of the family business. Normally I hate AJ and his stupid apathy, but I actually kinda felt sorry for him last night. Meadow is just annoying. And yes, ditto on the Janice hate... she reminds me of my crazy sister-in-law.

No, but as my husband says to me after my remark: "But chicks dig bad-for-them guys anyway, and if they have money, then all the better. They don't care how they get it, as long as they reap the benefits of it." Hmm, where did I go wrong in my marriage quest, as I don't see myself rolling in cash. ;)

The damn show has seeped into my subconscience though, as I passed a sand-colored Cayenne yesterday and thought, "Hey, that's Carmela's ride."

i thought the episode was pretty strong, even the coma sequences. tony's sister is totally annoying, however. agree about that.

there was an article in esquire or GQ a few years ago about the trend of heavy guys paired up with attractive women. much of it focused around tony soprano. the power/bad boy/money element was brought up often. that still doesn't explain something like "king of queens" or even "the honeymooners", though. (edit: or that latest digiorno commercial with the guys watching tv in the yard and calling the house for delivery.)

Ohh MY GOD did I have to laugh so hard right now at that.

I thought the same thing about that commercial too. I'm not saying thin women/heavy men or vice versa don't happen. They do, but come on, when one looks like they've sat on the couch eating doritos without shaving for a year, and the other is drop dead gorgeous-then I don't buy it.

Ahhh television.

it totally surprised me when aj was talking to tony at the hospital and he was saying how he's gonna kill uncle junior... i knew something had to go down like this where it would trigger something in aj. aj's slowly but surely becoming aware of what his dad does so i have a feeling it's going to start developing into something- either he becomes a part of it, or struggles with it... they've been building it up for awhile (note: in previous season, aj was supposed to get in a fight but the kid backed down because he knew who his dad was so aj's freaking out about that then meadow shows him a website with everyone on it).

disappointing episode tonight. i know it's just setting things up - the calm before the storm, but it didn't get to me. then again, no series could live up to the last two episodes.

That was awful. I'm glad they can take six years off in between seasons to have a great season premier then waste two weeks.

It just seems like everyone has lost their minds.

Dropping off a hundred grand in a hospital? And where are the Feds? I mean, they show up at every funeral, but the boss gets shot and they are nowhere to be seen. Silvio letting all of it go to his head? That just seems out of place and unlike him.

A violent attack in the middle of a writing class, and in a world where everyone has cellphones not one person is even the least bit shocked enough to report it?

Vito pawing Finn?

The whole defibrillator scene with Meadow & Carmela hawking over Tony? Why were they even in the room?

I've wanted to kill janice for a while. AJ is one of the worst actors I've ever seen, he's completely out-classed.

I thought Episode 2 sucked. The attempt to create this quasi-purgatorial place failed miserably. It just dragged on. Nice job by Tony though, droppin the accent like that. Impressive.

I need more people to die. Somebody important. For example, I'm very interested to see how Junior goes. VERY INTERESTED.

What the fuck was wrong w/ christopher tonight? Bringing up the movie bullshit in the hospital? WTF? (Next time I see him in Tribeca, I'm giving him the cold shoulder. That'll show him.)
