Be culturally sensitive, here, pendejo. They were his beans... Frijoles*, if you were to allow it.

As it is, I tend to associate THEM with beans, following heavy exposure to Molotov's "Frijolero".

I think FT was being contextually sensitive here since Cesar did for grapes what Nader did for the Corvair, which is raise the awareness level above and beyond what they should have been.
