Hate is a strong word. I reserve it for bands like Sum 41. And saying they have no place in music is a bit far. They serve a huge demographic:

Pre-Torn Abercrombie Hat
Hemp Necklace
3/4 Baseball T-Shirt w/ arms colored blue
Cut-Off Cargo pants fringed at the bottom
J-Crew Sandals
30-Rack Red Dog

I love lamp.

BTW - I'm pretty sure I created the coolest myspace profile. Eureka!

Just another group that will put out 18+ albums and I'll never know one lyric.

There's enough room in my bubble for all of you.

my snob friends and i oft comment upon the fact that our freshman year of college (2001) you could walk into literally any dorm room at any given time on the campus of the university of maryland and hear the song "a crazy game of poker" by a band called "OAR" playing on someone's computer. it was hated upon the very moment that it graced my ears.

and to this day, their awfulness is a bit of a running joke among us.

allegedly they sold out madison square garden in january.

the end is nigh.

Shit, guys, they're just one more generic pop band. I don't have time and space in my skull to actively hate how many of those there are. Tune it out.

Nice. Hating takes effort. Reserve it for the worst.

Yeah, i thought they were from Ohio (athens or columbus).

They sure fucking played Ohio enough when I was in school.

I'm with the haters, but who's gonna step up and drag these motherfuckers behind the stage and brain them with keg taps? I mean, besides me?

They must be a lot bigger in the midwest. Nationally, they've only had two hits and those are hard to distinguish from dozens of other bands' bland pretend-powerpop hits.

oar played at the college i was attending
(winona state - division II champs bitch!)
about 4 years ago i think

i was going to an early class
and the tour bus was outside the gymnasium
i was riding my bike
and i saw that they were getting off the bus
so i shouted "oar not!"
and they seemed instantly peeved by the comment
"get back here you little shit!"

i had been using "oar not" all week
i was out of material so i got the hell out of there
