How is that possible? It's the other white meat for chrissakes. It's delicious.

NONONONO
Chicken is the other white meat.
The curing of pork is man's greatest accomplishment.

No kidding. Ham, bacon, sausage are the best. All on one plate with eggs.

BACON UP THAT SAUSAGE, BOY!!

You don't know that half of it! When I was in Dublin I encountered the greatest sandwich in the world 'The BSC': Bacon-wrapped sausage with creamy coleslaw on a baguette. I had one every day for lunch with a Guinness. Not surprisingly, I was in a GREAT mood every day.

yeah but compared to a well made pork tenderloin, chicken tastes like baby vomit.

Haven't had any since about 1990.
I only eat fish (and very rarely, chicken).
Yup. Don't ever miss it.

I feel sorry for your taste buds!

The idea of eating pork is totally nasty to me.
There have been a couple of times that I've craved a good steak.
Since I quit red meat I have had a little piece of steak (that someone else had ordered) about 4 times. It still tasted good to me, but I never really liked pork much to begin with.

No pork in 15 years = how do you even remember what it tastes like? I also wonder if you've ever had really good pork. I could see how if you've only had breakfast sausage, sausage on pizza and pork chops you might think its a lesser meat. Marinated pork loin, carnitas, and cuban pork dishes are tough to beat though. And bbq ribs when done right are great regardless of what meat they are.

or good sausages like Andouille and Chaurice?

Awe. Not sure if that's a compliment or not.

My ex = Hungarian full of wild tales of various animals organs in his family's fridge as a kid. He once told me: "You'd eat meat if you were really hungry."

Senor Six = More veggie than me. It's wicked. We're restaurant fiends and are always looking for something new to maow. It's nice to like the same foods.

Oh, I remember. I was about 16 when I stoppped eating it. I had a very very little piece of lamb last year... now that tasted good.

When I ate meat I liked: homemade cheeseburgers, sausages, bacon, lamb, and veal.

I'm just not really into eating animals. I'm not preachy to others about it though---hell I still crave & eat chicken sometimes, but I feel pretty bad about it.

I could kill and slice up a fish so I feel alright eating it, but that's about it.

God did I ever hate ham back in the day! So salty and icky.

edit: The simple explanation = I'm a poncey Morrissey-type.

WOW. Sounds almost as awesome as Scotch Eggs -- Eggs coated in sausage, breaded and fried. Served with hot mustard. Bloor and I almost shed a tear the day we found out about 'em.

you realize bacon & sausage is pork right?

And generic ham isn't very good. I agree. Smithfield or VA baked ham is pretty terrific though.

It's the sinful, artery-hardening type of good that only deep fried and pork can provide.

Yeah. Guess I'm being confusing. I just meant that I did actually find them okay back then. They were never my favs though.

If pork is the other white meat, some of you have been buying expired pork.
