I like that first track from Wussy and I liked the Centro-Matic when I streamed it, but I haven't listened to shit this year.

Yeah? I don't think I've heard anything I'd consider great.

That Liars album is kicking my ass right now. Defintely one of the best of the year so far, if not the best.

1. Mystery Jets - Making Dens
2. Belong - October Language
3. Centro-Matic - Fort Recovery

Haven't had a chance to pick up Calexico yet, but I suspect that may replace either 2 or 3.

I would say I've heard at least nine 2006 records I would consider great, with another seven or so I would consider very good. This is probably the best year in quite some time.

Knowing my tastes, M. Cap, would you think I'd like this? I own no Calexico at this point, but have considered looking into them.

They're better than half the crap you put on your mix.

Hm, well I could see that Destroyer album being good (I liked a few songs from it) and maybe Minus 5, but I thought that Loose Fur album was pretty weak. Not even as good as the first one, and I never listen to that one at all anymore.

I never heard the first Loose Fur album, but my understanding is the two are so completely different as to be totally uncomparable.

I think you're the only person on the board that didn't like FT's mix.

And the new Calexico is OK. They have better stuff. The Black Light, Feast of Wire, and the collab with Iron & Wine would all be better places to start.

I think you're the only person on the board who participated in the mix exchange that didn't like FT's mix.

So I guess I'm supposed to like it cause everybody else does.

Thanks for the support, but I do appreciate OPA! being honest with me. I'd rather him tell me it sucks than to lie about liking it to protect my feelings. Of course, I also know that everyone who says they liked it actually did like it, but let's give Chris props for sticking to his guns and marching to the beat of a different cummer.

EDIT: Sorry about that typo. Should read, "let's give Chris credit." "Props" is so white trying to be black.
