I'm working with a friend in a band who's looking to get some new shirts printed up. Other than the tried and true BLACK, what sorta colors are you guys & gals into or even more likely to purchase? There has been a ton of requests from young ladies for a pink shirt, so that's already in the works.

Yes, I know it probably has a good bit to do with the design, but I'll take care of that part later. Skillz, yo. Oddly enough to me, he said they've tried several dark blue shirts, and they can't ever move them.

Thanks, gang.

pink makes me feel too girly.
i'd go for the black or dark grey over any color.. or maybe a dull green, darker, mind you.

This thread got really gay, REALLY QUICK.

I can't buy the new pilots tee, even though the graphic is awesome. That light blue type on the dark brown is unsettling.

White on a black tee is the way to go. Or black print on any light color. Make it easy to read.

Dark brown and dark green shirts look tight.

Black is still the god of hellfire though.

About 80% of my t-shirts are brown and most of the rest dark green.

If I'm ever on the run from FARC guerillas I'll be perfectly camouflaged in the jungle.

I'd like to have more:
Red
Purple
Mint Green
Charcoal w/ light print

I hate White and light grey tees, too easy to stain and a pain to clean up.
I'm a fan of the vintage looking ringer or baseball tees with the glossy emblems.
As a guy, I wouldn't mind rocking a lavender tee or magenta/fuchsia

Boy's whack, Ryan. I like that shirt. I like the light blue with brown print as well.

I recently found a few Beatles baby tees for really cheap. Light blue with white and magenta print, black with white print and pink with purple print. I like them all. I guess I'm not picky.

I'm a fan of grey, especially heathered grey. Maybe with some dark blue or yellow/gold print. Heathered red is good, too, with either black or yellow/gold print.

'80s gray (dark gray, nearly charcoal, very very little white)

I'm going to start giving you pantone color choices.

Dark blue is bad. So is light blue. I don't like blue because I have tons of blue shirts. Also, when wearing blue jeans, I feel like too monochrome. I am a red, grey, mossy green fan myself. And ringers are cool. I don't dig on the 'girly' tees because they have a tendency to shrink upward and you end up with a belly shirt. Not so good.

I'll second the thoughts on blue being bad.

Maroon or a green that isn't crayola, maybe mint or olive.

red is good, army green is good, baby blue works well also. girls will buy pink.

as for design, never put a photo on it. illustrations (possibly created from a band member) are best, as well as just the name of the band, but text shouldn't be to large. sometimes a funny or intriguing phrase gets people curious and will ask the t-shirt wearer what their shirt means.

seriously. i'm so sick of bland t-shirts--i'm all about the bright colos these days. that light blue/brown combo. . .for it. . . pink and black. . . for it. . .

I'm not saying my moss green polvo shirt and grey hum shirt aren't among my favorites but it's not because of the colors. rock a bright color and stand out a bit from the horde of hoodie'd masses.

Those and tan/khaki are good bets, I think.

I also like having a variety of T-shirt colors, though, so I have red, green, yellow, and purple band shirts that I like a lot. If I were designing it, I probably wouldn't be able to pick a color until I had some sort of design worked out.

This thread is amazingly useful to me.

Someday (hopefully soon) you shall all learn why.

Am I the only one who misses the "baseball" shirts that were all the rage at concerts in the late-'70s/early-'80s? White or gray body with black 3/4-length sleeves. OLD. SCHOOL.

I'm cool with that. I don't have my book here, but at least it's definite.

I'm wearing a 3/4-length baseball shirt RIGHT NOW. It's just a plain gray/blue Rawlings, no band, but I love these things.

PS Thanks for all your help guys. I was pretty much in the same boat as most of you, but it's nice to have your thoughts (unscientifically) affirmed.
