tonight: daughter worked late so son and i had dinner together and i actually sat through an entire episode of star trek. it involved a creature that was an oil slick or something. my mind went numb after 11 minutes.

tomorrow: cabbing the kids around, lots of birthdays to shop for and correspondance to catch up with.

sunday: 2 hour drive to the ex-sister-in law's for dinner where i will sit and wonder yet again why i am doing this. i'm hoping for a huge fight for a little fun. fun, only because it never involves me.

I've been sitting at my daughter's bedside all day while she recovers from surgery---she's doing well. Now I'm home with my younger daughter and in-laws, drinking gin gimlets--just me and the in-laws, not my daughter.

Up early again tomorrow to return to the hospital. Same for Sunday. Luckily, the Easter Bunny knew about my daughter's surgery, and left baskets and eggs for them to find last Sunday. Thank you Easter Bunny. :)

It's not a holiday unless you get time off work. Fuck this weekend. Of course my house just sold and i'm completely out of debt with loads of money to spare.

I bought 11 albums today.

seu jorge - life aquatic
husker du - zen arcade
husker du - new day rising
belle & sebastian - the life pursuit
the replacements - let it be
flaming lips - 2 disc Yoshimi (had to replace my lost copy)

maximo Park - a certain trigger (2 disc) $4 new
black mountain - s/t $4 new
D'Angelo - Voodoo $4 new
Suede - A new Morning (import) - $4 new
Longwave = There's A Fire - $4 new

Sam goody in this crap mall is going out of business and had about 100 cd's left (70% off) and i found the five above for $4 apiece. I was happiest about Suede but the rest may be worth it.

I've been reading "Our Band Could Be Your Life" so that's why i've been picking up some Replacements and Husker Du

The Black Mountain is definitely worth four dollars. I don't like 'There's a Fire' as much as their previous disc, but it's also worth the price.

this is a great album that seemed to not get much attention on this board last year. i have no idea why that is.

We get Monday off as well. Makes no difference to me though as it's mid-semester break.

Thursday: finished off essay and handed it in. Went into JB's for a cd splurge and ended up buying 6 while putting back that many.

Friday: got up at an ungodly hour to drive 5hrs home, on 5hrs sleep while trying to avoid holiday traffic while my bro snoozed beside me. Spent the afternoon ensconced on the recliner reading a magazine then falling asleep.

Saturday: sleep, music, eat, about to watch Swans (AFL) get smashed most likely

Sunday: am going up to a village ~45mins from town for lunch with the parents, grandma, aunt. It has a random Chinese festival on, even though I seriously doubt any Chinese people still live there. Will probably spend some money in their awesome wool mill. Dinner with the neighbours.

Monday: sleep in, drive back to Sydney
