Kenny Rogers is the biggest douche is real life. He played here two years ago and was all pissed about how crappy our arena is and freaking out about how the production crew and booking agent made the stage set-up look cheap.
The guy has been playing the casino tour for years and was charging $60 for his show here. I dig some of his 70's stuff, but the dude isn't anywhere near being first rate talent or worthy of charging that today.
He should be happy somebody actually booked him into an 8,000 seat arena.

I saw him for free about 3 years ago at some benefit for this Jewish school here in town. Truly bad. He could still sing okay but it was this Vegas type revue and he did this medley of Gambler and Coward of the County while playing scenes from ALL of the Gambler movies.

Funny this thread got started because I was at my folks place Saturday night watching tv with my dad and we watched some of the CMT Music Awards and caught Kenny presenting an award and we couldn't believe it was him.

Who is telling these people that this is a good idea this late in their career.

Dolly Parton didn't need it either. She's looking pretty scary lately too.

The Kenny Rogers/Lionel Ritchie "Crossroads" about a year or so ago was fucking awesome...

A few years ago when we were roomates, Busty and I saw this commercial on late night TV for an album of Kenny doing all these songs like "Unchained Melody" only in the "Kenny" voice...which spawned an ongoing bit of singing songs like "Livin La Vida Loca" and "Ooops I Did It Again" in that voice. Funny shit.
