Info bump for those who may not have seen it yet :

Not only is the DBT album only $7.99 at Best Buy, if you don't have a BB nearby you can get it with free shipping at bestbuy.com.

There's a few other albums with this deal, too - I picked up the Eagles Of Death Metal album for the same price.

I'll probably go to Best Buy later and get the Hostel dvd. Nothing else I really want this week, except maybe that Parts & Labor.

Anyone know anything about the Jesu?

it's much more, dare i say, upbeat, 'cept for "Wolves" which features the trademark drone. really good EP [almost an LP, as it's over 30 minutes].

I'll have to check it out. Unrelated, but have you heard Weakness by Air Conditioning?

never even heard of it. tell me about it. what type of stuff is it?

It's actually a 2004 release, but for some reason the talk of Jesu reminded me of it, even though they don't really sound the same. It's kind of a whitenoise/psych/drone release with distorted screamed vocals broken up into three songs. I'm not sure if you'd like it or not. I can probably YSI it tonight or tomorrow if you don't find a copy of it somewhere.

If that air conditioning's around, I'm 'bout it, 'bout it...

I think I might have to go all the way down to Amoeba to find this today, if they have it - never saw any of the 12" there...

Already hit up Turntable Lab yesterday, and I fear going back there today...

but, point being, y'all best buy you some Spank tonight!

understood. for me, physical product is so last-century; less crap to take up space, quicker & easier accessibility and the music's all the thing.

Yeah, but if I didn't have the CDs, I'd just have a big empty wall. Besides, having artwork that someone worked on is nice, especially when it's good artwork, plus good liner notes. Websites just cannot replace liner notes. Downloaded files are just not going to win me over easily and I don't think I'm in the minority when it comes to adults, from my very unscientific survey of people around me. Kids, yes, they're already switched over to files, but it seems like most post-college people I know just want to own a thing and not just a stream of data in a file. I think when any music you ever want to hear can be dialed up and heard in an instant is when not "owning" music will work for me, like radio that only plays exactly what you want, on demand. Otherwise, I gotta have something physical.

I didn't buy anything but I almost bought Arctic Monkeys since it was on sale for $7.99. Then my "impulse buy" buzzer went off and I set it down.

On a scale of one to ten thousand I'd rank Hoobastank about one point under Arctic Monkeys.

I actually don't even recall ever hearing Arctic Monkeys. I've just heard that they are "good."
