ridiculous. if he wasnt on the team they wouldnt have a single win.

Same deal with the Cavs, but they don't have Phil Jackson as their coach, which is why LeBron deserves it over Kobe.

np: Glowfriends - "The Song Inside My Head"

If the game is on the line and you'd rather have the ball in lebron's hands, you're crazy. He's a great player but at this stage in his career he doesn't have 1/10 of the killer instinct that kobe does.

besides cav's playing against eastern competition more than offsets the coaching difference.

im a raptors fan, and i dont hate him. the raptors havent been able to get decent production from a point guard since damon stoudamire left, and hes certainly a step up from the oft-injured alvin williams, who is more than likely finished anyway.

i don't really think that "shoots every time = killer instinct". how many games have you seen kobe lose by himself by hurling up a three pointer in triple coverage? far, far more than he's won, and he's been doing it for YEARS. if you're saying that you want kobe taking the last shot sure, if you're saying that you want your best player to find the best shot on the floor, well he's pretty deficient. he's an amazing scorer but pretty much the antithesis of a team player, and a cancer on the floor.

his scoring average went from like 11 ppg to 21 ppg...he's third in the league in 3pt fg%. I would say he improved slightly.

Do you know a lot of Raptors fans?

You're asking if I personally know people on an internet message board. that's not relevant, there's plenty of basketball forums and websites too. He brings nothing to the point guard position whatsoever. Yeah, he's moderately talented, he can shoot, he's nothing more than an even shittier Stephon Marbury/Francis/Knicks guard. His ass needs to learn that his role is to pass to Bosh.

About 1/100th of the games I've seen him single handedly carry the Lakers to a victory, or bring them back into the game after the rest of the team fucked up. Lebron would shoot 40 times a game with that roster around him too.

That's like saying if Eddy Curry scored 7 more points in twice as many minutes as he had before, while averaging half a rebound more and twice as many turnovers he would be the most improved player in the league.

MVP: LeBron James

Rookie: Chris Paul - no question really

Coach: Flip Saunders - gets no credit, but he improved the Pistons

Defensive: Ron Artest

Sixth Man: Ben Gordon.

Most Improved: Boris Diaw - can't argue this

Suprise: Clippers - duh

Disappointment: Timberwolves I guess - as always.

yeah Paul and Diaw should be mortal locks, but i would love for artest to win defensive player. don't think that he's got a chance in hell though.

fair enough, he was a fantasy savior this year, so maybe he should just get the PAPER'S FANTASY AWARD.

I don't really understand why the clippers being good this year is very surprising to people.

just because they're the clippers. Brand should have gotten shot or something to be unsurprising.

bruce bowen - millionaire based on being a supposed master of man to man defense and the corner 3-pointer. what a world.

biggest disappointment in advance - blazers get # pick in the draft and pick a total stiff from high school or europe.

because, well, they're the clippers. I thought Cassell was too old, Kaman was garbage, and Magette was overrated at the beginning of the year. Brand deserves some consideration for MVP. I'd put him at third behind Kobe and Nash, tied with Nowitzki and just ahead of Lebron.

He's the best player in the league. But if you take him off the Cavaliers they're a 6th seed. If you take Kobe off the Lakers they're the worst team in the history of sports.

Thank you.

Definition of MVP.

End of story.

P.S. I hate the guy (Kobe) personally, but he does more for his team than Jordan did during the entire 80's. It remains to be seen if they can build another nucleus to go on a championship, but the fact that they won ~45 games this year with sasha vujacic, smush parker, chris mihm, brian cook, kwame brown, luke walton...has a bigger collection of stiffs ever been assembled? I think not. How many of those guys would actually be drafted today, if a draft were held? Maybe Mihm...

What I'm implying is that Phil Jackson would get a lot more out of LeBron and the Lakers than Coach Urkel would out of Kobe and the Cavs.
