I picked it up last night...deluxe version at Borders. I think it was mispriced though because I got it for $13.99. Anyway, I really like it upon first listen. I don't mind the new direction, in fact I think it suits them well. Really its not too far from hints of the upbeat songs on Iron Sea.

Glancing at the liner notes last night I noticed that Jon Brion did production of track 5.

3 songs in, and the lyric / song title "You Can Do So Much Better Than This" is a little too poignant. This sounds like 80's robot rock. Tinny drum machines, swirly ambient keyboards, Devo guitar sounds...

Also, track 9, Pretend That You're Alone is a ripoff of Nothing But Flowers. Similar lyrical theme (people vs nature), chords, beat. He heard that song one night and was like "oh I totally need to re-write that."
