it's hard to smile when you are part of the reason a pretty good team had a horrible year. for all the shit taling, it turned out that TO was right about Garcia.

You sure about that?

After getting 30 dropped on them by the Giants, I'm having questions about their defense.

A team like Indy could light them up good.

It's already been confirmed. Falcons will not lose a game until 2018.

14 straight Super Bowls.

Dude, I know I'm probably the only one who gets this, but I just had a laughing fit.

"It's already been confirmed" is fast approaching legendary status

Snap! The only way Philly's gonna make the super bowl now is if they insert Randall Cunningham back in as starting QB.

not at all.
they have brian mitchell, jevon kerse, jeramia trotter, a healthy brian dawkins and a healthy McNabb (who only played half he game last year, and couldn't run at all the year before that)

it's a huge loss, but this team is still better than last years team and the rest of the leauge is worse this year than it was last year.

Yea man. Winning a close game on the road was just what they needed. Blowing out the Giants would have done absolutely nothing for them, other than adding 1 to their win column.

This is true. One thing to remember about The Falcons is offense wins games, defense wins championships. P Kearney and KBrook aint's to be fucked with either, kids.

I'm not hating on your team---they have played great all season; Westbrook is a good back, but i think they have some problems with their rushing defense; Westbrook will be neutralized by playooff caliber defenses particularly when they dont fear the vertical game---lets face it: Pinkston, Mitchell and company are garbage.
Until they prove they can win the big game, they will have the stigma of 3 straight defeats (2 at home) in the NFC championship

The Falcons are by no means a better team; but they have a top rated rush defense and the #1 rushing offense; that bodes well in the playoffs, particularly if we have to play in Philly in the cold.

And, the Falcons have Mike Vick which is good. (though he has his share of problems)

And Philly is a town full of losers (sorry Jewels, I had to do it bra)

Philly's run D has been solid since they shifted the starting line-up after the Stillers crushed them. I think their defense as a whole is better this year than last.

Even without TO, I think the Eagles make the Super Bowl. McNabb is going to will it into reality, because he is the football Jesus. But I don't think they could beat Pittsburgh or New England without Owens. So, hopefully TO recovers quickly. If the Eagles can't do it, it'd be nice to see Pittsburgh win just because I know how ecstatic the whole city would be. I don't think any city loves their team quite as much as Pittsburgh loves the Steelers. But another New England super bowl win would make me vomit.

i really couldn't feel more indifferent about this. i want to be glad that he's hurt as i really don't like him and it helps the chances of my team (packers) but let's face it. they were the best shot the nfc had and now it's all but assured that one of the big three in the afc will just roll right over whatever sorry team the nfc tosses up.

Toronto has the nickname of T.O. as well, and I was wondering - what the hell is a city out the season of?

Toronto is typically out for the winter season. It spends approximately 4 months as the self-professed center of the Canuck universe and the other 8 as a barren tundra that supports losing sports franchises.

Why is it people in other Canadian cities have to take every opportunity to knock Toronto? Did I say something in this post that just made you so angry at big, mean Toronto you just had to try to take us down a few pegs? I was just respoding to the title T.O. out for the season, and you just HAD to turn it into an attack, eh?

Wow.

Total meltdown. But if you look at our losses, 2 of the 3 were blow outs to KC and Tampa. We just came out flat in both of those and never got it back. It's a concern but good teams shake that off and get ready for next week. In both of those losses we bounced back with a win the next week.

cmanhattan, weren't the high flying Rams supposed to roll over the Patriots in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago? Didn't Carolina almost beat New England last year? I'm not buying the idea that we should just hand it to the AFC champ especially with the parity in the NFL today.

You gotta play the game and beat the man across from you.

It's gonna be a great playoff season in BOTH leagues. There are about 5-6 teams with a legit shot at winning it all.

I like Peyton, but I don't see him in the Super Bowl this year. Pats (despite their loss to the fucking Dolphins last night) and Steelers are just too tough. But... they gotta play the games. Carolina wasn't supposed to beat anybody last year, and everyone had the Steelers in the Super Bowl back in '01. Yes, the games must be played, but barring the Cinderella factor, I have a tough time seeing an NFC team running the table with this thing.
