Regardless of your motivation, the effect will be to your advantage- the element of surprise at work.

I had a somewhat similar experience back when, with my ex and her silly bf, except that I buried a baked potato in dude's face, and had to do some serious talking to dodge another assault charge.

Not similar at all but great none the less.

Who needs logic? This was a kickass move. I love it.

It's always nice to appear up to something when you aren't.

No Mr. Bond, I want you to DIE.

I don't know why this thread reminded me of that scene in Goldfinger, or who's playing what part here, but I have the sneaking suspicion that YOU should be the new James Bond.

Although James probably would have tagged the ex, but it wouldn't have meant anything.

I like Kon's answer. But of your choices, I say B.

I think both. It was a great gesture and taking the high road and all but at the same time, it will be mind-fucking both of them for days.

Good for you, I'm proud of you. I especially love how you told the waitress what to say! LOL

Should have told the waitress to tell them that Jesus won't forgive them, but He still loves them.

Okay, I uploaded the most recent one I have, which is already a couple of weeks out of date. I have a good one from last night's rollerderby bout that I need to transfer from my camera to my computer, and I'll get that up soon. Time to go bump the mustache thread.

By paying for their cheque you were asserting that you still retain possession over your ex wife with the added bonus that you de-masculinised her partner by psycologically linking the ability to pay for breakfast with the ability to sexually satisfy to orgasm.

I think it was a smooth move. For one thing, by paying for their meal, you're slowly getting the focus back on your mental well-being and helping yourself get better every day (you will be okay with this, anniversary impending and whatnot). You can do this on your own, I have no doubt.

Secondly, you'll probably never have to worry about them EVER invading one of your favorite brekkie spots again. If anything, it's going to make both of them leery about the possibility of running into you, which I think is great-- make THEM feel uncomfortable.

Agreed.

Also, this thread contains the second mention in a week of BillyG's divorce. More layers come off this guy everyday.

Upon hearing this, my landlady (who knows the ex, of course), said indignantly "What were they doing up here? This is YOUR neighborhood." (1.5 miles for me, 5 miles for them). Eh, at any rate, I'm doing great.

No mention of this from my ex yet, by the way - she's supposed to be getting some baby pix of a mutual friend's kids from me sometime this week. Heh.

You come off very classy in doing this to her and the new guy. You politely said hello, never caused a scene and covered the check. I can't imagine the guilt she felt after she left the restaurant and how awkward the guy felt after you made him a chump.

HA!!!

Or better - I wish that there was some way I could have several of them there at the same time - none of them are jealous at all, but I don't think they have any interest in meeting each other.

Between this and all of the full-throttle mongering and mansluttiness during and since SXSW, did you ever know that you're my hero?

Seriously, bro, that picking up their tab shit is bad ass on about 10,000 different levels. You are a fantastic human, and as a result, the good Lord will continue to throw hot poon your way.
