The Arcade Fire...I probably shouldn't admit to needing help finding them since they're from my home town.

Clap yer Hands Say Yeah.

I haven't really been able to explore new music very much lately, otherwise I'm sure this list would be longer.

Oh hell, there are a lot. If I don't find new music because of Obner, I find it through a magazine. Those are pretty much my two sources of late.

Neko Case. I finally decided to get Blacklisted on the back of someone (I think Frosted?) commenting on her in a np thread, back in my lurking days

And I bought a few Church cds recently based on encouragement in a thread on their latest cd that I kind of hijacked

I'll probably be digging up some old threads on Brazilian music soon having just got my first taste of it through the Tropicalia comp from last ear

I realised today that I probably owe Bright Eyes and Modest Mouse to CMJ. I would've found out about them either way, seeing as how many of my friends listen to them now. But I was pretty ahead of their curve thanks to the CMJ board.

Duly noted. Although, it actually was the "misguided, earless bastards" quote to which I was referring. Have any of The Wrens sent you lasagna lately?

They never did - although that offer was made in '02 or '03, I think, so by the Wrens timetable they've still got at least 3 years to get on with it.

Oh. Well then, by my timetable I've still got about 17 years to get on with it.

Is Joe Pisapia that good? That's like 4 mentions... if so, what was he doing behind Guster (of whom I am an enormous fan)?

I'd say the jury's still out on Joe Pisapia. but his Daydreams album is definitely that good.

(but expect a laidback Nick Drake Bryter Layter sorta thing rather than a life-changing fuck-up-the-rawk-paradigm experience)

Huh. Busty said there was a bit on a Guster dvd showing him playing something of his, supposed to be good, but the dogs ate my dvd remote, so I can't access the menus, and ... we sorry.

Being a huge Guster fan, I've needed a YSI of this for the longest time.

If you, or anyone, can hook me up, I'd be much obliged.
