me too. i don't believe in doing that. maybe things will change later but right now, hell no.

Never felt the desire to live with someone (romantically) until now. Happy I did, (...and happy I didn't in the past).

if i was engaged with the person, then i would definitely consider it... if i can't live with the person romantically, then how the hell are we supposed to get married. however, right now i'm not even close to thinking about marriage and can't even meet a decent guy that will keep my attention span for more than a month!!!

Shacked up once, maybe twice depending on how you count (I let an SO live with me while his parents were splitting when I was a teenager). Living alone is awesome, living with someone can be good (sweet sweet sex life) but can go wrong in oh so many ways. I'd have to be pretty convinced of the fabulosity of the other person to try again.

Lived "in sin" with one girlfriend for 3 years
married her
we now have 2 kids
and will be celebrating our 14th anniversary this August

I'm a proponent of giving it a trial run through living together. Worked for us, although in the beginning it was quite the family gossip.

Back where I come from a lot of couples never bother getting married. The Quebec government just recognizes it as marriage. There's even a nice word in French for common law partner "cojoint". French Quebecers were so oppressed back in the day by the Catholic church that they rebelled and have since done away with most that goes with it.

(...and the jokes about it sounding like someone you smoke joints with ensue...)

Working on number three . . .

I believe in trial runs prior to marriage, the first two drove me nuts and I broke it off.

So far, Phil is exceeding expectations. :) In every category

Don't tell his mom, we too are "living in sin".

Oh totally. Not that I've lived with a boyfriend cos I still live at college, but I could never imagine marrying anyone without knowing that I wouldn't want to kill them 6 months after moving in.

And it would be major family gossip, but not because of the whole living in sin thing - my family just likes to gossip a LOT

Never lived with a bf. Right now, I live by myself...it's a good thing I have dogs to come home to, though, it would be nice to have male companionship.

Never lived with a(n) SO... Hell, I've never had an actual SO. Also, I have lived alone for the past two years, and have decided that there is no way that I will ever have another (non-SO) roommate, unless I am just starving to death. It's just too nice to have a house to myself.

Never lived with someone before Deena, always swore that I wouldn't. If i hadn't suddenly found myself screwed out of my place that I had only been living in for 6 months, I probably wouldn't have done it, but it's been great so far. I'm gunshy though, and still waiting for the hammer to fall.

I've lived alone for 3 years now out of college. This week, my fiancee graduated from college so she moved in. Space is definitely a commodity.

Never, too much of a loner. If they start spending too much time over at mine and start to leave toiletries, then its time to show them the door.

But isn't time you found a nice girl to settle down with? This summer, while you're in Greece, maybe you'll meet the girl of your dreams, and you could marry her and live in Greece forever. Wouldn't that be nice?

I'd like to live alone for a few years right now. Not even close to getting married, but I'm getting sick of roommates.

I don't think living with someone before engagement is a bad idea at all. I wish we lived together a while before we got engaged, to be honest.

there were downsides, but i loved living with my girlfriend.
and most of the downsides were due to the fact that my place is really little and there was nowhere to hide if you were in a bad mood.

but on the whole i liked it way more than i thought i ever would.

First one I have lived with. And I am in Mobile more than Montgomery, but hopefully that will fucking change here pretty soon.

Buying a house, getting hitched, sometimes it comes out of the blue like a Mack truck. If you had asked me a year ago if any of this would EVER happen, I would have bet you $1million to a donut it wouldn't, but look at me now.

Damn you loogs, you got that bullshit chorus from that bullshit pop country schlock song stuck in my head.

Yesterday I had Hall and Oates "I Can't Go For That" stuck in my head, and I thought that was pretty bad, but this fucking sucks.

Thanks.
