You didn't bring a certain someone with you, didja? With the initials Y-E-C-H?

Hope you have a good time here. Is that a Canadian accent I detect?

And how's that Raconteurs disc?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I live just outside of Toronto, Ontario. And from my lurking, I see that there are plenty of other Canucks here too. Cool!

Sitting in my 6-pack in my car right now are:

The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers (and Finchy, I still think it's excellent)

Dogs Die in Hot Cars - Please Describe Yourself (kinda like I'm doing now)

The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema

Luke Doucet - Broken and Other Rogue States

Green Day - American Idiot

Smash Mouth - Fush Yu Mang - I haven't listened to this one in years and outside of Walking On The Sun, it hasn't held up well. I used to love this disk...not so much anymore.

Cheers!

Hey, if he follows me here like the mangy mutt that he is, what can I do?

Yes, it is a Canadian accent, eh. What are you going to do aboot it?

I don't care what you say...that Raconteurs disk ROCKS! It's not excellent in a "gotta have it on a desert island" kinda way. But it's excellent in a "every song is solid" kind of way.

Welcome.

Go pick up all Wrens, Spoon, and Walkmen, and Kings of Leon material right away. Otherwise, oh wait, you're a girl.

Welcome.

greetings and welcome!

(strangely enough, I just shipped off that Smash Mouth cd to secondspin.com in the hopes of getting an entire $2 for it in store credit)

I was being serious, though.

And as a female, feel free to sing the praises of such execrable acts as Duran Duran, Journey, Madonna, and Matchbox Twenty. With impunity.

Thanks, eh. I listened to The Killers on the drive into work. I need a new release from them...and soon!

I've got Maximo Park all lined up on deck and ready to go.

And I'm a big Kaiser Chiefs fan.

Well KC fans are a very small club on the board; I'm glad to see one more at least.

I saw one of their videos on a German video channel this morning. Right after some laughable gothabilly remake of "I Walked With A Zombie" and just before Kings Of Convenience and Wolfgang Press videos.

Innernet can be sweet, sometimes.
