those claiming that this is better than any Radiohead material are fucking idiots....'cause it's not even close.
cool, i dig mr. yorke, a lot, but this leaves a lot to be desired...especially after hearing who he's been listening too. some of the bleeps and fx he's used are downright amateur. his voice sounds awesome, and there are some great "parts" of songs, but overall, nothing to write home about, and very uninspired.
thanks thom, i know where you should stay.....fronting an amazing rock band, and not attempting to recreate your fellow electronic artists.
It's missing something.
it's missing a lot.
it sounds like a bunch of unfinished tracks.
damn you thom.
it's not spectacular, it's not extraordinary. he's not doing anything crazy....but for people that have only heard radiohead and aren't actually into ill electronic music this is pretty fucking cool.
his melody lines are money, and while they may not be original they are unlike stuff he has done before.
while he is not innovating the electronic genre, he is pushing himself (although not as much as he could.)
as far as your point that he should just front a rock band, dude, they're done making "The Bends" They're not going to make that again...this is what they do now, and it's damn cool.
I think tracks 1-3 or perhaps 4 are really cool and the closing three are awesome. It gets a little slow in the middle.
What this makes me hopeful for though is the new Radiohead album...because frankly I think this is pretty goood although it doesn't measure up at all to RH's other stuff. My point though, is that if Thom is using this stuff on his solo album I wonder what he's saving for LP7.
