Today: minimal working and recovering from last night's drinks and a date that was going along wonderfully and then took a U-turn into The Twilight Zone at the very end. Still scratching my head over that one. There's a friend's going-away party tonight and a local punk show that sounds tempting. Up in the air.

Sat: AM coffee w/ friend/biz partner to discuss some bidness issues, head to big state park nearby to do some work on a story. Evening is pretty open. Might see "Nacho Libre".

Sun: write story, head to Lansing to see my friend's band open for Theory of A Deadman. I'm actually just staying for my friend's band, who sound nothing like ToAD, which is a good thing, and should get home fairly early.

Tonight - Drink some beer and watch the Cubs game.

Saturday - I work for about 4-5 hours, I'm gonna try to start around 6am. Then my dad is coming to St. Louis to visit me.

Sunday - My birthday, gonna drink some brew with the old man, and have a Highlander marathon. He got me the whole series on DVD for my b'day. I also hope to get out to some batting cages.

Today: Had a conference at school today. Downside, boring talks. Upside, pub in close distance. I was hungover most of the day, as it seems everyone else is, so I logged a lot of pubtime today. Must have been something in the air last night for so many slow moving Friday folk.

Now: Relaxing with my red, red wine and three pounds of wings.

Sat: Got to attend a few more talks and then it's couch time. I can't fucking hear any more scientists talking about their goddamn work. I need to attain a lower consciousness.

Sun: Deadwood. And more booze.

Friday: if it wasnt so goddamn hot I'd like to either go hit golf balls or maybe play some frisbee golf--something.

Frisbee golf is so awesome. Everytime I introduce someone to it they always start off going, "Frisbee golf? god, that sounds dumb. Really? Frisbee? Golf?"... and they end the day all excited and trying to set up the next time to play.

sunday: metric century in the morning/early afternoon-- I'm worried I am seriously going to get my butt kicked

Holy crow, it was a friggin hot day (101 degrees).... it was around 66 at 7 am, and we started riding around 8. Got done around 1:30 or so, with many many stops in between-- to stop in the shade, get my breathing under control, drink water (although it didn't help much when my water is hot too). I thought I was going to die. But goddamn if I didn't finish it.... I had to finish just for the free beer. ;)

Roughly 5000 feet elevation gained during the ride, with one section of 8.5 miles of 8-10% grade incline. Gorgeous view of Mt. Hood at the top, which I would love to share a picture with you, but yesterday was all about little to no extra weight, so the camera stayed in the car.

Here are the before and after pics. If you had seen me about a half hour before the second photo, I probably would have been a red and black melted blur on the pavement. I was not a happy girl at that point. Thank god for air conditioning and Coke!
