(grrr... DEENA. Dog never pulled that shit when it was just the two of us, now she's a spoiled retarded princess).

So I filled the tub almost enough to drown the cat, or so I thought, with pretty warm water and flea shampoo, although they don't have fleas. Then I unceremoniously dumped the cat in there, then the dog with him. Then i emptied the tub and turned the shower on the two of them. I'm drenched. The animals have no dignity left, and I have all my blood.

Orange juice on the keyboard. Thanks, man. I needed a good laugh.

Hey, you cookin' this weekend? 'cause I've got a freezer full of sausage that's saying, "Phil should cook us". I swear.

Mmmmm... polish sausage.

I'm free Saturday, and Sunday too I think. you?

I just bought a grill...you leave early sat morning and you, deena, red and the sausages can be in LA in time for dinner on Sunday. :D

A brilliant idea. Gas or charcoal? We can grill the cat too, he's clean.

I love my dog. She was so well behaved in the tub, and she stretched out in the tub giving the cat no room to flail. Very reminiscent of Robert E. Lee's Swinging Gate strategy.

You should have taken a picture, but I'm guessing that was near impossible under the circumstances. I hope you're at least rewarding yourself for a job well done.

Any tips for giving a fucking asshole cat a bath? Asides from tying him up with twine and knocking out his teeth with a ball peen hammer?

Next time, blow pot smoke in its face. I'm serious. If you don't smoke, then well... I don't know. Any type of sedative will do. Don't they have feline Valium?

yes. but i DON'T recommend EVER doing that to your cat.

i got a sedative for my evil cat when i moved up to cleveland from cincinnati. she hated being in the car....so i thought i was doing something nice for her.

WRONG!

she wasn't evil UNTIL after that sedative wore off.

I'm having a beer and a smoke right now. And I thought about a picture.

Next time it'll be a two man job.

I love that idea!

A bike ride was planned for Sunday, but the forecast is calling for rain all weekend. I have no plans outside of darkroom tomorrow night.

Saturday sounds good!

Propane. Cats aren't good eating though...too tough. You'd think that wouldn't be true if you have a lazy cat but I'm guessing it still is.

kitties, as stupid and gross as some of the things they do, bathe themselves regularly and thoroughly. indoor cats, particularly, aren't ever truly dirty enough for a bath unless there is, quite literally, something wrong with their brain. they're not big on dirty and baths are really traumatic to them. plus, there's the possibility of getting water in their ears, which is a real problem because water is hard to get out of there. i'm sure you noticed satan cat's ears going flat to guard against the water. cats clean themselves, but maintain their body's natural oils and dander, as its their way to "mark" their territory. baths throw that off-balance which, again, may make kitty sad.

if you don't care if you traumatized the cat, that's fine, up until they pee-pee on your bed-bed because they're mad at you. :)

Well said Katie. Well said. I can't agree with you more.

Bathing a cat is completely unnecessary unless it came down with a horrible, horrible case of fleas-or in the case of one of my former cats, rolled in fresh tar. Ever try to get fresh tar off of a cat's fur??? Holy crap that was not easy.

Your cat is seriously going to hate you Phil, it's also now going to do very bad things to you and your belongings when you least expect it.

I do however have one cat who is obsessed with water. So if water is running it has to be near it. He will also perch on the edge of the bathtub while you take a bath. He'll dip his tail in there, but that's as far as he goes.

I should have prefaced my solution by saying that my old roommate's cat literally had something wrong with it's brain after losing 8 of its lives by being left outside all night long, being hit by a car and going into shock, therefore going into a coma then while coming out of it could only walk in circles and forgot that it's supposed to clean itself. We had to give it a bath about once a month, and blowing pot smoke in its face was the only way to sedate the cat enough to be given the sink bath.

I know you're not supposed to bathe indoor cat---and that it's scary business if you do---but what is there do to when they get...you know... a little smelly (long fur, certain "nautral" things stick to in a certain posterior area).

???

My cat is lazy. He does get smelly and has dingleberries and matted fur where he can't reach. Therefore, he has bath every couple of months to tidy up a bit. I make sure I time it before the vet so I'd don't look like a bad mama.

He has never retaliated by making a mess anywhere. In that regard, he has been a great cat--has NEVER gone outside the box and never gets hairballs (obviously because of a lack of proper grooming).
