Salvador would've been awesome if Belushi's character wasn't so poorly written and acted. He came across as cartoonish while everyone else was spot on. Woods was awesome. And you don't want cartoonish in a political thriller. No wonder the critics killed it when it came out. Thank God Jerry Harvey saved it & Woods got.

If Stone had gone with John Savage's character more (the other photo journalist) & either toned down & recast Belushi's spot or written it out all together, Salvador would be one of the tragically underrated films of the 80's. Instead it's a 'very worth seeing good film, but with a big flaw'.
