I can't think of Boggs without thinking of his NL counterpart Tony Gwynn. Anybody with the time and inclination willing to compare the two?

No contest. Tony Gwynn got fat and still hit .370.

Sutter gets a slight edge because he was the first of the true one inning closers (basically a three out specialist).

This makes no sense. A guy who gets a save by making three outs is more deserving than a guy who makes 6 or 9 outs to get a save?

It's OK - I can't think of Skeet Ulrich without thinking of his "Rich Man" counterpart Johnny Depp.
