Rick Jeanarette, play-by-play for the Sabres. First on radio, now on simulcast. I think he's been there since day 1 (1970). He's a bit of a homer, but he calls the games with unmatched enthusiasm.

Well known (at least in Buffalo) for LA-LA-LA-LA-LA- LAFONTAINE!

The guy who does Thrashers radio games named Dan Kamal is really good, too.

A couple of years ago around Christmastime he got a little excited and I'm guessing they weren't on a delay because this went over the air:"

"GOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!! HE PUT IT ON THE TOP SHELF WHERE YOUVE GOT THE FUCKING PLAYSTATION HIDDEN!!!!!

too classic.

OK, so this guy has a ridiculously slicked-back mullet, wears David Byrne-sized pastel suits, and is an all-around buffoon, but for some reason I can't help but love Barry Melrose.

Mofo knows his hockey and is entertaining as hell. And there's also no doubt that hidden between all of those crazy suits in his closet is hanging an XXXL-sized McGruff costume.

I also really like Mark Schlereth. He's very versatile, as evidenced by his frequent guest spots filling in as co-host on Mike & Mike in the Morning.
