I don't like to do it on a regular basis, but when I go back to visit my mom I have to. I also did when I was in college. There is nothing worse than being toasty warm under a pile of blankets and having your feet exposed to the frosty air. I also hate waking up and stepping on cold hardwood or tile flooring,

I almost mentioned this, but I thought she might be one of those people who runs their AC constantly so their house temp is like 60 degrees.
There is a huge difference between living in LA and sleeping in a drafty basement of a house in Nebraska during the holidays when you are lucky if the outside temp is above freezing.

but that's what wrapping the blanket around your feet is for.

sometimes in the winter i try to go to bed with socks on, but i always end up kicking them off through the course of the night.
